Under the direction of the medical director and occupational health leadership team, the Internal Occupational Health Manager leads a multidimensional team of occupational health nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and office assistants at multiple sites/hospitals in the delivery of integrated occupational health services to the staff of Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin. This individual will be responsible for assuring the effective and efficient coordination of department functions including pre-placement physicals, medical surveillance, work injury care, exposure follow up, and other staff-related health and safety programs. This position is responsible for the development of and adherence to department budgets and is accountable for process improvement strategies. Primary Function: Oversight of Department of Defense project safety program following the USACE EM 385-1-1 Safety Standards to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Reports directly to the Corporate Safety Director. Participate in the planning and preparation of the project safety for all work activities. Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per Accident Prevention Plan (APP) procedures and federal, state, local client regulations. Conduct various industrial hygiene sampling including multi gas detection, heat, air quality, and/or noise monitoring to ensure safe working conditions. Issue various permits such as burn permits, dig permits, confined space, Lock Out/Tag Out, as required. Assist in conducting employee/craft and Governmental inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state, or local jurisdiction inspectors on walk through tours. Assist in emergency response as required. Assist in maintaining all safety systems and equipment, including but not limited to fall protection, fire protection, rigging, shoring, first aid kits, gas detectors, lock/out/tag out and other safety tools/equipment. Administer site craft safety incentives and recognition as well as training programs. Attend monthly SSHO Committee Meetings. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience: Requirements include a four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or industrial related safety experience including 5-10 years of construction safety experience with formal training. Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, and company regulations. Thorough understanding of environmental regulations, including but not limited to SWPP & HAZMAT. Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required, including the ability to work as a member of a team. Should be familiar with Federal OSHA regulations and/or EM-385 regulations. Communication and computer skills required. A college degree in Safety and Health is preferred. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office and on a construction site. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical Requirements: Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather. Prolonged periods of standing and working outside. Prolonged periods of sitting. Developing safe working conditions for all Henderson Products employees through shop floor presence, focused on ergonomic assessments and risk analysis. This position is responsible for Henderson's overall employee safety, environmental compliance and health program with a concentration on leading implementation of risk reduction projects at our Upfit locations. Job responsibilities include the following: Parts with EHS team to implement safety and health standards, criteria and guidelines, such as those issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA Health, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and all other applicable regulations. Schedule and conduct training sessions based upon job specific requirements. Training may include: General Safety Awareness, Supervisor Safety Training, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Respiratory Protection, and other job-specific training. Support onboarding of new hires with all Safety related training including job specific safety training. Demonstrate a culture that identifies health and safety opportunities and documents those for trends and predictive analysis Lead safety incident investigation teams to determine root cause, corrective, and preventive actions Establish and manage ergonomic, injury case management and return to work programs Train and assist personnel on the safety programs including, but not limited to, development of job hazard analysis, job safety, incident investigation, accident prevention plans, permit-to-work process. Interface with functional first line management and supervision, ensuring risk management methodologies are being incorporated into all facets of operation. Complete Upfit Location visits / inspections to ensure compliance with Henderson safety programs. Review and maintain the site preparedness and emergency plans and procedures Oversee hazardous chemicals and waste storage area, waste reduction monitoring and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, proper disposal and documentation Responsible for risk assessment and analysis including: Accountable for completing permit applications and work with environmental and safety groups and consultants to ensure compliance in permit reporting requirements Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and corrective actions are followed through accordingly. PPC is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for our Buffalo Grove IL facility. This role will provide leadership and oversight of EHS activities across local manufacturing and warehousing operations. The EHS Manager will report directly to the Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety, with a dotted line to the Plant Manager, ensuring alignment between corporate EHS initiatives and plant-level execution. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as PPC's internal policies and programs. It will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers, including insurance carriers, brokers, and consultants, to implement and continuously improve EHS systems, training, and best practices. This is a practical role that demands a mix of strategic planning, administrative oversight, and on-the-ground involvement to maintain a workplace that is safe, compliant, and sustainable. The EHS Manager will be responsible for EHS across three facilities: Buffalo Grove, Pewaukee, and Hartland. This role will be responsible for traveling to the Wisconsin plant(s) on a weekly basis. Position Responsibilities: The EHS Manager will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing programs to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Specific responsibilities include: Compliance & Program Management Develop and implement programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Maintain and promote EHS policies and procedures throughout the site. Create and manage plans to ensure EHS training complies with or surpasses regulatory standards. Perform risk assessments and create strategies to reduce hazards. Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste. Manage the implementation of waste reduction and sustainability projects to lessen environmental impact. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Keep all necessary safety, accident, and environmental records and documentation. Serve as the local representative for the company's Safety Center of Excellence (COE) and Green Team. Perform other related duties assigned to support the success of the EHS program. Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety management, EHS Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
