Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
Requirements include a four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or industrial related safety experience including 5-10 years of construction safety experience with formal training. Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, and company regulations. Thorough understanding of environmental regulations, including but not limited to SWPP & HAZMAT. Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required, including the ability to work as a member of a team. Should be familiar with Federal OSHA regulations and/or EM-385 regulations. Communication and computer skills required. A college degree in Safety and Health is preferred.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office and on a construction site. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.

A Typical Day
Ensure strict adherence to Parts Town's Powered Industrial Training program by administering comprehensive training, evaluation and certification of all PIT operators; this includes formal instruction, practical training and operator evaluations.
Oversee all vehicle training requests, including pro-active timely notification to vehicle operators and ops team on recertifications, and ensure adherence to classroom training standards.
Schedule and provide hands-on instruction under controlled conditions, ensuring operators gain experience operating PITs safely and efficiently.
Conduct thorough evaluations of PIT operators in their actual work environment to assess operational competence and safety compliance prior to certification.
Create and share reports on vehicle operator certification/recertification status and track completion duration rates.
Conduct PIT operator behavioral based safety observations providing vehicle operators with timely feedback and reporting safe and unsafe observations to leadership.
Respond to vehicle incidents and near misses, assisting the safety team with investigation and analysis of incidents to identify contributing factors and root cause.
Contribute to year-over-year incident reduction goals in PIT-related safety incidents.
Support the development and enforcement of fall protection policies and procedures, specifically working from heights on PIT and AutoStore grid.
Conduct inspections of elevated work areas and fall protection equipment.
Provide training and coaching on proper daily inspections and use of fall protection systems and PPE.
Support German Bionic AI-Powered Exoskeleton training and certification program and monitor safety level performance metrics
Assist the safety team with the monitoring of Safety Management Systems and running reports (e.g., Safety Reports EHS System, InfoLink and German Bionic Data Platforms )

Qualifications

The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining Henderson Products safety initiatives, polices and culture. Developing safe working conditions for all Henderson Products employees through shop floor presence, focused on ergonomic assessments and risk analysis. This position is responsible for Henderson's overall employee safety, environmental compliance and health program with a concentration on leading implementation of risk reduction projects at our Upfit locations. Parts with EHS team to implement safety and health standards, criteria and guidelines, such as those issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA Health, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and all other applicable regulations.
Schedule and conduct training sessions based upon job specific requirements. Training may include: General Safety Awareness, Supervisor Safety Training, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Respiratory Protection, and other job-specific training.
Support onboarding of new hires with all Safety related training including job specific safety training.
Demonstrate a culture that identifies health and safety opportunities and documents those for trends and predictive analysis

Establish and manage ergonomic, injury case management and return to work programs
Train and assist personnel on the safety programs including, but not limited to, development of job hazard analysis, job safety, incident investigation, accident prevention plans, permit-to-work process.

Responsible for risk assessment and analysis including:

Ensure all permits, reporting requirements and audits are met promptly for both environmental and safety compliance
Conduct regular site inspections in coordination with Operations

Position Purpose:

PPC is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for our Buffalo Grove IL facility. This role will provide leadership and oversight of EHS activities across local manufacturing and warehousing operations.

The EHS Manager will be responsible for EHS across three facilities: Buffalo Grove, Pewaukee, and Hartland. This role will be responsible for traveling to the Wisconsin plant(s) on a weekly basis.
