Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and identify all requirements that apply or may apply. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Education/Certifications CHST from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health is strongly preferred. Requirements Previous experience in EPC Solar Construction to include land clearing, mass grading, site development, foundation installation, grounding installation, racking installation, photovoltaic panels and inverter wiring and installation and commissioning. Minimum of 2 years previous construction safety experience. Previous management experience preferred. Highly motivated individual with ability to effectively communicate up and down the organizational structure. Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar.     Job Title: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer Career Level From: Specialist Career Level To: Senior Specialist Job Specialty: Nuclear Engineering Safety What You'll Do As a senior nuclear safety engineer, you will work to fulfill an important regulatory function in a dynamic environment. Our nuclear safety engineers are responsible for obtaining federal authorization to conduct nuclear operations at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12). These operations, which support the manufacture of nuclear weapon components and naval reactor fuel stock, involve a wide range of activities including chemical processing, metal production, casting, machining, assembly and disassembly, transportation, and storage. Senior nuclear safety engineers are responsible for evaluating accidents that could occur during operations (events ranging from process upsets and equipment failures to fires, earthquakes, and floods). Senior nuclear safety engineers also are responsible for identifying the safety measures that need to be implemented to ensure the workers and public are adequately protected. Those measures range from administrative controls, such as material inventory limits, to engineered controls, such as fire suppression systems. To fulfill those responsibilities, senior nuclear safety engineers must develop a working knowledge of Y-12 operations and federal nuclear safety requirements and work closely with subject matter experts representing Operations, Engineering, and numerous other Y-12 organizations.     The purpose of this position is to account for ongoing Driver Development, Customer Root Cause Development and Dedicated Customer Startups within the Dedicated Business Unit. Above all, this job is to ensure our fleet continues to improve their skills to reduce our driver turnover from Safety terminations. Responsibilities * Learn hazmat for driver training and compliance for reasonable suspicion assessments. * Identify training needed for Safety Department taught classes, including but not limited to Orientation, New coordinator training, Logs, Mentor classes, Defensive Driving, Confined Space, pre/post trip, and a road evaluation. * Investigates all possibilities for improvement within the fleet, enterprise, and industry. * Collaborates with Operations throughout departments, to determine needs and areas of improvement and help driver Safety. * Complete random driver checks to ensure drivers are following policies and regulations, placing equipment properly, driving safely, and completing pre/post trips. * Effectively coach drivers by helping to improve unsafe driver behaviors through coaching. * Perform remedial and ongoing in person driver assessments * Executing root cause action plans, onsite driver meetings * Implementing customer startup evaluation assessments to help our drivers be the safest fleet on the roadway and operate in the safest environment possible. * Continuously improve training processes to help benefit the drivers in their daily tasks.
