Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain Safety Manual, Accident Prevention Plans designed for ensuring compliance with contract requirements, governing regulatory authorities and company policies Develop, implement, and maintain a project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) that adheres to the project requirements and industry best practices. Daily inspections, covering job sites, vehicles, and work areas such as the yard, shop, and the offices Act as the primary point of contact for all safety, health, and quality-related matters, including communication with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients, and their relevant vendor/partner approval and surveillance processes Report any safety violation found and ensure any unsafe conditions, equipment, and health hazards are corrected before leaving the location Create standardized, business relevant, safety program reporting to inform management and stakeholders Ensure compliance with safety procedures through inspections, training and evaluations while keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Training programs target all employees and ensures compliance with company new-hire, as-needed, and annual refresher requirements. Special focus on Transportation Department new CSR and CSA training along with recurrent training. Controls and manages training matrix for the unit. Supports Safety Managers in the units as well as personally reviews transportation training and manuals on an ongoing basis to ensure all requirements are current. Conducts training to bring all transportation documentation into compliance. Ensures all accidents and injuries are investigated and documented to determine root causes and assists unit and regional management with developing corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence. Communicates required prevention steps by providing Safety Alerts, Safety Acknowledgement Forms, and Shift Briefings to unit management. Liaises with clients in cases on safety related issues Ensures compliance with company safety policies and procedures, annual written safety business plans, and company developed safety best practices through audits, support to other unit and regional EHS staff and participation in meetings Supports the unit in incident investigations and final reporting. Supports PRIDE and SQUAD teams within unit and region to enhance Safety awareness among all staff. Works with unit to secure full OSHA compliance in all cases, at all times Regularly attends and participates in various meetings and briefings Controls proper maintenance of CDL files in (when applicable) at the unit as required by company policy Monitors, controls and drives improved compliance. Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in related field preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of safety and/or risk experience required. Previous in airline, food processing, distribution operations or other fast paced environment. Manage, implement, and enforce the accepted Safety Accident Prevention Plan Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution. Distribute a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies. Write Safety proposals, interpret regulations, develop training, draft inspection standards and draft safety assessment tools. OSHA-30, CSP, ASP certification is preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Performance of the job responsibilities will require the ability to (1) use tools and operate equipment in the field, (2) ascend/descend both exterior and interior ladders/stairs, and (3) move safely around an area under construction. The employee must also be able to easily communicate with clients, stakeholders, and other employees and observe various pieces of equipment in the field. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee where risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
