Conduct accident investigations and ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent future incidents. Administer discipline for safety-related violations, as necessary. Identify training needs and conduct proactive safety-related training. Provide technical input and insight into regulatory requirements for other departments within the company. Develop and manage a process for Driver Log audit and corrections, including electronic logs. Maintain records of all safety and training activities. Other duties assigned by Management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Transportation Safety, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the Charter Bus or Transportation industry. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Assign work tasks, provide leadership, gather and combine team input to form recommended action plans and analyze data/trends to guide incident reduction and hazard mitigation. Focus on improving performance, reviewing source material (rules, codes, laws and standards) and identifying and sharing industry practices. Share responsibility with Senior Manager, Safety Services in supporting senior executives. Apply safety standards and able to perform and lead others in resolving complex issues outside of established regulations. Maintain relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees. Work individually and leading a team in driving above average incident reduction results achieved through the development and implementation of targeted safety strategies and tactics.
