Under the direction of the medical director and occupational health leadership team, the Internal Occupational Health Manager leads a multidimensional team of occupational health nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and office assistants at multiple sites/hospitals in the delivery of integrated occupational health services to the staff of Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin. * Conduct various industrial hygiene sampling including multi gas detection, heat, air quality, and/or noise monitoring to ensure safe working conditions.
* Issue various permits such as burn permits, dig permits, confined space, Lock Out/Tag Out, as required.
* Assist in conducting employee/craft and Governmental inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state, or local jurisdiction inspectors on walk through tours.
* Assist in emergency response as required.

Quality

Required to work in a team environment with customers, co-workers, production supervisors, shipping and receiving, customer service, sales and company management.
Assist COD and sales in resolving customer quality complaints.
Process all returned RGA's (Return Goods Authorization) evaluating reason for return and make a determination and recommendation to the plant manager for resolution.
Use accepted methods to inspect, sample and test materials for quality control and quality control tolerance.
Monitor, Inspect, and test process functions, product, and materials daily at all stages to ensure our products meet or exceed industry standards.
Record and log all test data per production process and report weekly to the plant manager.
Create and implement quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
Oversee all aspects of Quality Control including overall implementation of the quality program and provide support as needed to the key personnel who manage the processes.
Daily reviews of key metrics to ensure budgeted objectives are being met. Interpret information and coordinate any required changes or new directives with employees.
Review daily production statistics and ensure implementation of measures for continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and preventive loss.
Assist management in recording and publishing of all quality KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).

The EHS Manager has the responsibility for managing the Environmental, Health & Safety programs at the Adell, Wisconsin facility and after 60 days of training, would support the New Holstein, WI facility. Position would be based out of Adell.
Essential Functions:
Monitor and assist the facility with compliance of all applicable company environmental, safety and health standards as well as all federal, state and local regulations.
Develop compliance plans for air and water permits. Manage WPDES permits.
Work cooperatively with outside consultants.
Develop and maintain company environmental, health and safety programs at the facility.
Work with the highest ethical standard for legal compliance and demonstrate a true passion for employee safety.
Manage plant safety, health and loss prevention programs.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure that occupational safety and health standards are maintained throughout the facilities. Utilize IH equipment to determine employ's exposures to noise and air contaminants.
Perform fit-testing for respirator users.
Maintain all required environmental, health & safety program records and legal documents.
Regularly inspect plant for unsafe conditions as they relate to equipment, process, and facility.
Actively participate with the plant management team to develop corrective actions for identified risks.
Track corrective actions to completion in accordance with the facility corrective action tracking program.
Professionally train, counsel and advise personnel on all identified safety risks, and establish a proactive approach to providing a safe working environment for everyone at the plant.
Conduct new employee EHS orientations.
Lead and oversee the monthly EHS training program.
Schedule and assist the plant with having monthly safety committee meetings.
In cooperation with area managers and first-line supervisors investigate all injuries, environmental releases and serious near misses.
Immediately report all injuries, environmental releases and serious near misses to the Plant Manager. Submit a written notification of all injuries, environmental releases, and serious near misses to the corporate EHS department using the RCI reporting program.
Complete a first report of injury with Workers Compensation Carrier if required for a workplace injury.
Monitor return to work instructions given by health care provider and advise area managers and supervisors on appropriate return-to-work activities.
Manage all site workers compensation claims.
Under the direction of the Corporate Director of EHS, participate in special assignments as they relate to corporate EHS audits, new facility pre-startup safety reviews, and EHS training programs.
Actively participate in all safety activities taking place at the facility including safety observations, inspections, training, audits, and incident investigations.
Lead the site Safety Committee.
Lead the site Safety/GMP audit team; comprised of QA, maintenance and production.
Develop working relationships with outside regulators including fire, police, wastewater, and WDNR officials.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health, and Occupational Safety or related field
ASP, CSP, CIH or other related certificates preferred
5-7 years' work experience in a manufacturing setting working with environmental, health and safety programs.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and continuously improve the Safety Management System across the division.
Lead and direct the Safety Learning Strategy across the division.

Advise and instruct operating management concerning the organization's safety objectives.
Conduct annual audits to evaluate operating performance to established policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.

What you'll need

A working background with team environments and coordinating safety initiatives (SDWT, problem solving teams or work cells) or equivalent team training.
Demonstrated practical experience in safety process improvement and statutory requirements.
Experience interacting with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Ability to interpret and apply OSHA regulations on a practical basis.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for providing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs and related policies and procedures affecting the company's existing and/or proposed environmental health and safety issues. Acts in a liaison capacity with EH & S and H&S personnel regarding interpretation of all policies and procedures, pertaining to technical support and guidance on industrial hygiene, reactive and explosive, OSHA, substance abuse testing, accident prevention, etc throughout the Central Branch. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Implement and administer programs pertaining to OSHA, medical surveillance, substance abuse testing to avoid potential liabilities and maintain a viable workforce at all VES-TS locations.
Coordinate worker's compensation, accident, and injury management programs with facility personnel to determine adverse trends and develop meaningful productive standards resulting in safe and effective operations.
Implement industrial hygiene, safety, regulatory and transportation programs as well as modifying existing plans to meet the needs of the facility(s).
Acts as chairperson on improvement team pertaining to all environmental, health, and safety programs. Makes appropriate recommendations on either a national level or modifications to facilitate the needs at various levels within VES-TS locations.
Provides guidance to all levels of management regarding utilization of appropriate practices in conjunction with regulatory requirements and changes, if necessary.
Provides training in environmental, site remediation, reactive chemical operations, emergency response, etc. as needed or requested by local operation sites.
Provides appropriate research and investigation to support the development of existing and/or potential new environmental, transportation, health and safety policies as determined by management or required by federal, state, or local governmental agencies.
Approximately 10% travel required.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
BS in Chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
5 to 8 years in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
Minimum of 3 years in a problem-solving capacity required.
