About this Role
Brink Constructors, Inc.
The Safety Professional - Field plays a critical role in ensuring every team member returns home safely each day. This position is field-based, spending up to 100% of time on job sites, actively partnering with managers and crews to promote safe work practices and prevent incidents. Key responsibilities include conducting safety observations, delivering and scheduling training, guiding teams on safety protocols, investigating incidents, ensuring compliance with company policies and DOT regulations, supporting policy development, maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating with external safety agencies, and overseeing program compliance and other safety-related initiatives.
This job requires a DOT physical and a current DOT medical card.
Pay: This is a non-exempt/hourly position. The pay range is $45 - 49 per hour. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.
Location/Travel Requirements: This position is field-based, spending up to 100% of time on job sites located in North Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities and Duties
* Conduct field safety observations and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance. Other safety duties as assigned.
* Deliver, schedule, and track safety training, including onboarding and refresher sessions.
* Investigate incidents and near misses; lead learning reviews and recommend corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
* Assist in developing and updating safety policies based on field insights and regulatory changes.
* Maintain accurate safety documentation, including reports, logs, and training records.
* Monitor DOT compliance, including vehicle inspections and hours-of-service tracking.
* Collaborate with external safety agencies to implement industry best practices.
* Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project planning to integrate safety into operations.
* Mentor field teams to build a proactive, safety-focused culture.
Reporting and Compliance
* Serve as a mentor by instilling a safety-first mindset in all field activities, encouraging every team member to become a proactive advocate for safety.
* Share safety knowledge, policies, and best practices across the organization in a way that educates, empowers, and develops others.
* Ensure all staff are trained on safety policies and procedures and consistently apply them in the field.
* Collaborate with the EHS Manager to develop, implement, and promote best practices in safety management.
* Identify and mitigate safety risks through proactive field engagement and data analysis.
* Maintain and submit accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection findings, training records, and safety alerts, in accordance with company and regulatory timelines.
* Ensure all safety-related processes and protocols are consistently followed across projects.
* Prepare and organize project-specific safety documentation to meet government and corporate compliance standards.
* Review, consolidate, and distribute safety documents and communications to relevant stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
What You'll Bring
Required:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field safety or a related role, preferably in construction, utilities, or industrial environments.
* Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and other applicable safety laws and best practices.
* Proven ability to conduct incident investigations and support root cause analysis.
* Experience delivering safety training programs (ex. First Aid/CPR/AED).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach field teams.
* Ability to work independently in dynamic field environments and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in safety documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking.
* Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazardous materials handling.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned regions.
* Safety certifications such as CUSP, CHST, ASP or CSP preferred or willingness to obtain.
* OSHA 500 trainer instructor Certificate or willingness to obtain.

The Safety Manager will report to the Project Site Manager and work closely with the Project Site Supervisor to oversee all safety protocols, compliance, and risk mitigation efforts for the job site. A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position serves as Valmont's Regional Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), with expanded oversight across a defined geographic region with multiple sites or across multiple businesses. This role leads the deployment of EHS strategies and systems across multiple sites or businesses, ensuring consistency and alignment with corporate objectives. The Regional Manager collaborates with senior leaders and site teams to drive performance, manage risk, and support regulatory compliance. This position plays a more strategic role in shaping EHS culture, while continuing to support incident response, system improvements, and integration of EHS into business operations.
Essential Functions:
Oversee a defined geographic region with multiple sites or across multiple businesses.
Reports to the EHS Director; more likely to have direct reports.
Responsible for regional implementation of EHS strategy across multiple sites or multiple businesses.
Leads cross-site/ cross-business initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate standards.
Drives continuous improvement across the region.; multiple sites or multiple businesses.
Leads multi-site / multi business risk assessments and hazard mitigation.
Acts as a liaison between corporate and site-level teams.
Provides strategic input into EHS program development.
Support the development and maintenance of Global EHS Standards related to occupational safety, fire protection, environmental and sustainability compliance; examples include Accountability, Electrical Safety, Hazard Communication, Hot Work, Contractors, Fall Protection, Due Diligence, Site Closure, etc.
Support the implementation, update, and maintenance of Valmont's EHS Information Management System (Intelex) and LMS training platforms; Integrates business strategy into automated and semi-automated processes
Develop and maintain risk assessment tools to identify and minimize exposure to safety hazards
Effective oral/written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information to key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to prioritize a large number of projects and track projects through completion
Ability to effectively interact with others, establishing open, candid and trusting relationships
Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA and Fire Prevention technologies (or similar region/country regulations)
Recognize and be able to integrate Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) concepts into EHS and vice-versa
This role requires up to 50% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
Other Important Details about the Role:
Serves as a liaison between Global EHS and Risk Management and Human Resources on applicable topics
Develops and support implementation of emergency management and business continuity programs
Leads the serious post incident review, communication of incidents that result or have the potential to result in serious injury; partners with Regional EHS Director/Managers to identify root causes and preventive actions are effectively deployed across the organization
Provides training/mentoring to regional/site representatives to strengthen EHS compliance and best practices
Ensures the preparation of material evidence for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Formulates and implements actions on various EHS topics, as necessary, and shares updates with senior leadership
Provide training on in-house compliance assurance program (CAP) and ensures implementation across the organization
Ensure training programs are developed and implement to ensure regulatory compliance and incident best practices
Stay current with EHS/property conservation regulations and standards

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
Preferred Bachelor's with 7+ years relevant work experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability or related discipline or Associate's Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant years of experience of increasing responsibility with an emphasis on implementation and maintenance of environmental, health and safety programs, fire prevention, sustainability and risk management
Track record of making effective decisions, even when dealing with limited or ambiguous information
Ability to lead and support corporate, division, business unit and site teams responsible for managing EHS risks
Prior proven experience utilizing an enterprise-wide safety information system/database
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Previous experience with international locations and responsibilities or completed successful assignments
Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) or ISO 45001, 14001 desired
Prior experience implementing and/or maintaining an enterprise-wide database system
Professional certifications preferred such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH (or similar certification)
Experience in a similar heavy manufacturing industry

Key Deliverables

· Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures, and make environmental, health, and safety recommendations accordingly.
· Serve as a contact with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulatory bodies, and property and workers' compensation insurance representatives.
· Ensure complete and thorough accident investigation, accurate recording of the details, and implementation of corrective action for all work-related injuries and illnesses.
· Maintain employees' safety & environmental training records. Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
· Participate in all property and facility inspections conducted by federal, state, and local agencies, and insurance carriers.
· Prepare and distribute various reports and forms including monthly department inspection reports, etc. Review inspection reports and take corrective action on identified safety or environmental hazards.
· Provide assistance or perform other duties as assigned.
· Oversee the Safety Committee and Safety Steering Committee.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master's degree desirable.
· 5+ years' experience in a managerial or technical position in a manufacturing environment with knowledge and proficiency in EH&S programs preferred, or a combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
· Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of medical information.
· Ability to work well with others, exercise sound judgment and solve problems, work independently and effectively manage workload, and work well under pressure.
· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be resourceful, well-organized, meticulous, and accurate.
