Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects facilities to identifying existing or potential risks, health hazards, and provide recommendations for corrective or preventative measures in cooperation and coordination with the Materials and Safety Team.
Conducts and participates in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and vandalism in all company divisions and affiliates, identification of root cause and identify and support the implementation of preventive measures
Compiles, supports completion of, and/or submits accident reports per company policy and/or as required by regulatory agencies
Develops, organizes, conducts, assists, and/or coordinates training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness and culture within our workforce
Conduct and oversee regulatory compliance inspections with MSHA, Labor & Industry, or other local, state and federal agencies.
Assists in the implementation and execution of company drug and alcohol programs and policies.
Maintains safety files and records

Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in in the environmental health and safety, physical sciences, or other relevant programs with a focus on environment, health, and safety from an accredited educational institution AND/OR comparable experience in a safety role in the heavy civil construction industry
At least 2 years of relevant safety/environmental experience in the Mining and Construction Materials industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Presentation and public/group speaking
Ability to perform various mathematical activities to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
Ability to read and interpret regulation, plans, and construction drawings
Ability to adapt and meet deadlines and respond to changing variables
Ability to problem solve using several concrete variables in standardized situations
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and Medical Card
Meeting definition of Experienced Miner with appropriate task training and experience per MSHA standards and regulations.

Conduct engineering analysis to support maintenance program deliverables and determine appropriate maintenance tasks and intervals
Schedule and lead Maintenance Steering Group (MSG-3) reviews with company, customer and FAA participants
Work very closely with systems, safety, and design engineers and flight test to develop detailed maintenance procedures and ensure maintenance-related assumptions are valid
Generate and manage complex sets of maintenance related requirements through the entire development life cycle, including safety-derived maintenance requirements to ensure regulatory compliance is met
Outline and implement a program for developing maintenance tasks and intervals for certification and company maintenance requirements identified through System Safety Assessments, Zonal Safety Assessments, and other design verification activities

Assisting EHS site teams as a visual presence on the production floor and identify safety risks
Assist management team during accident or injury investigations and root cause analysis
Act as the management team's subject matter expert for safety and security questions

Identify safety risks present on the floor to be fixed or addressed
Complete EHS related audits and after-action responses to the identified gaps
Coordinator other associates on the floor with ergonomics, safety, and other related issues
Identify employees violating safety rules and coordinator them on a safer way
Act as an on-site first responder who can provide basic first aid to injured persons
Ensure visibility of HSE initiatives at the site level (Behavior Safety, Safe Work Permit process, Safety Observations, Near Miss, etc) to all levels of operations management and recommend improvements in effectiveness. Demonstrate sound judgement based on observations and evaluation, by site, to determine safety meeting effectiveness and appropriate level of mentoring for safety meeting facilitators. Collect and analyze data to identify safety or injury trends and develop corrective actions
Ensure contractors and visitors follow HelloFresh safety policies during their time on-site
Assist with the site emergency action plan and liaison with local first responders when needed
Conduct a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) of all routine and non-routine tasks performed on-site
Promote safer forklift operations through training, observation and coaching operators
Support other departments including quality, food safety, production and logistics as needed
