The Safety Coordinator works to ensure all team members can complete their work safely. This role ensures safety programs and policies are implemented and guides team members to help them understand and follow the programs and policies. The Safety Coordinator will conduct safety observations, investigate incidents, analyze safety risks, coordinate training, and maintain documentation and perform other actions needed to keep the workforce safe. The Safety Coordinator will also work with Human Resources for new team member onboarding and injury investigations as needed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
* Identifies safety/health hazards inherent in the organization's operations, and ensures processes and procedures are implemented for protection from those hazards.
* Works with outside firms to audit safety programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations and unique local conditions.
* Facilitates and leads the monthly safety committee meetings, maintains safety log and minutes.
* Helps the workforce follow policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines and to ensure best practices for the overall safety and health of the DeZURIK team members.
* Assists with investigation of accidents/incidents/hazards, and recommends future preventive measures and works with management to ensure implementation - OSHA/WC.
* Helps review new products, equipment, and processes for potential hazards and recommends modifications before introduction.
* Provide feedback to support plant engineering to assist with implementation of engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
* Organizes and participates in Ergonomic studies to ensure the proper tooling and layout of process.
* Active member of the Emergency response team, managing emergency procedures and organizing emergency teams during an event.
* Works with team members and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards.
* Partner with the Director of EHS to ensure compliance and effectiveness of the safety LMS system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or equivalent plus 2-year technical degree or experience.
* Minimum 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with a union.
* Experience with, and understanding of, safety operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, working knowledge of LMS systems.
* Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.

* Occasional handling of material and components; may have contact with caustic substances in some areas of the plan.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. Lead and oversee Bay West's Respiratory Protection Program, including monthly inspections of SCBAs and SARs.

Safety Program Coordination
Manage key Bay West facility safety programs including AED, Severe Weather, Fire Prevention, and site safety audit programs.
Administer the company's Learning Management System (LMS), supporting training delivery, recordkeeping, and program development.
Oversee internal training programs, including employee progress tracking, enrollment, coordination with training providers, and in-house instruction.
Develop, revise, and deliver Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), corporate health and safety manual updates, and new training content.
Incident and Claims Management
Conduct and document incident investigations, near-miss reviews, and root-cause analyses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
Manage and process workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Develop and distribute monthly safety performance reports and analytics.
Auditing and Continuous Improvement
Perform formal and informal safety audits across project sites and facilities.
Complete prequalification safety packets for subcontractors and maintain third-party safety databases.

Collaboration and Communication

Minimum Qualifications
The job requires two (2) years of post-secondary education in business, human resources, organizational development or related field and three (3) years of training experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Safety Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and implementing health and safety program.

Maintain equipment and inventory, including ordering all necessary supplies, materials, and maintenance as needed.
Research solutions and vendors for projects.
Gather information and data to track operational projects and conversions.
Support the Director of Operations with capital/construction project management, budget, and procurement procedures.
Manage safety/maintenance program to ensure building meets city, state, OSHA, and corporate requirements.
Provide safety and operational training as required to the ASM staff
Coordinate & assist with building's fire and life safety programs.
Support incident investigations both internally and with the client as required by attending any applicable investigations and subsequent meetings, ensuring all individuals involved are treated fairly and with respect in accordance with safety policies.
Research & implement solutions for improving health and safety in the workplace to increase productivity and reduce cost.
Maintain a file on trained personnel who are authorized to use motorized facility equipment.
Facilitates the Safety Committee. Plan, coordinate and execute meetings and all related issues.
Facilitate and deliver all standard, job specific and ongoing training in safety and environmental awareness for all levels of the workforce and regularly verify the tasks are correctly executed.
Create and implement safety polices and procedures.
Facilitate timely completion of accident/injury reporting.
Adheres to OSHA, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Fire Code (IFC) and other applicable safety codes.
Attend professional development training sessions as directed

The Public Safety Specialist position is responsible for the safety and security of assets, property, personnel, patrons, customers, and all visitors of the Guthrie Theater by monitoring and patrolling the theater premises and always responding to incidents in a calm and professional demeanor. This position is part-time and non-exempt. This position's hours are reflective of the dynamic schedule of the theater. A minimum of 2 shifts per week (at least one evening and one weekend shift) are required and you must have weekend availability. Available shifts also include daytime hours.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safety and Security
* Perform safety patrols to ensure the protection of property from trespassing, fire, accidents, vandalism and other safety related incidents, reporting any unlawful or suspicious activity through established company procedures.
* Monitor access to premises and property including personnel, visitors, and patrons.
* Resolve situations calmly with tact and common sense - including, but not limited to warning, apprehension and/or eviction of violators from premises if warranted. Duties include notifying the appropriate municipal departments (i.e., fire, police, emergency responders) when necessary.
* Respond to emergencies and administer First Aid/CPR/AED when appropriate and necessary.
2. Customer Service
* Provide exceptional customer service to Guthrie patrons. Take every possible step to ensure that customers have a positive experience.
* Present a polite and professional demeanor when interacting with patrons and colleagues.
* Ensure theater and lobby spaces are clean, safe and welcoming.
* Follow Guthrie policies and emergency procedures, directing patrons in the event of an emergency.
* Assist patrons with accessibility needs as needed or when appropriate.
* Problem solve patron problems as they arise, elevating as needed to supervisors.
* Communicate with supervisors, informing them of patron comments, problems, or needs.
3. Administration
* Can communicate, both verbally and in written form, to complete required documentation of written Incident Reports.
* Answer phone calls, take messages, and assist vendors, to promote internal department communication, and to ensure effective communication to Guthrie staff.
* Contribute to the overall work culture of the Guthrie. Promote a positive work culture by promoting interdepartmental teamwork and fostering open communication.

* Demonstrated experience in public safety, security, or emergency response-ideally in environments with a high volume of public interaction such as theaters, airports, hospitals, or cultural institutions.
* Demonstrated skill in engaging with a broad range of individuals including guests experiencing distress, individuals with mental health concerns, and high-profile patrons, while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and situational awareness.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven skill in de-escalating tense situations with calmness, tact, and cultural sensitivity.
* Can read and respond appropriately to a wide range of human behaviors and emotional states in high-pressure or fast-changing environments.
* Must possess or be willing to obtain Emergency Medical Responder certification within six months of hire; First Aid/CPR/AED training required.
