Responsibilities: • Develop and provide annual OSHA safety training to all employees and contractors • Provide new hire safety orientation and training as well as maintaining all employees safety training records • Organize and lead equipment safety training including, but not limited to, fork trucks, excavators, backhoes, skid steers and man-lifts • Create and maintain job specific work instructions by interviewing employees who are task experts and providing training to employees who conduct these tasks. • Lead monthly supervisor safety meetings and provide supervisors with safety toolbox talk topics • Lead accident investigations and propose corrective actions; investigate reported employee safety concerns and take action as needed • Conduct periodic safety observation audits of facilities, including inspecting machinery and equipment to observe possible unsafe conditions • Organize and maintain all OSHA records, and coordinate response to any OSHA questions, investigations and/or onsite visits • Organize and train all GET first responders • Administer and maintain all aspects of the DOT commercial drivers program and the FRA DOT program for Maintenance of Way (MOW) workers. • Other duties as assigned Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or a closely related field is preferred • Minimum of three (3) years in a safety responsible position required; previous safety experience in a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred • A thorough understanding of OSHA legal, health and safety regulations is required • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills as well as solid written and verbal communication skills • Must be able to train employees though one-on-one mentoring, small group interactions and formal presentations. • Must have outstanding attention to detail and observation ability • Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary • Must have valid qualification in occupational health and safety, such as OSHA 30 certification Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.     JOB TITLE: EHS Manager REPORTS TO: Senior Manager EHS TRAVEL: Up to 50% This position will work as a developing EHS leader, partnering with the Senior EHS Manager to establish and implement prevention-focused environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across the organization. In collaboration with the Food Safety department, this individual will support food safety processes, audits, corrective actions, and training programs. The role will split time between supporting the corporate Support Center with safety and compliance and routinely traveling to company locations to gain critical operational experience. This individual will aid sites in driving EHS and food safety initiatives, conduct audits, and execute training programs, ensuring preparedness and adherence to AWG's overall EHS objectives. This role is a direct path to an EHS Manager position in the field. SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Senior Manager EHS in implementing EHS strategy in support of Corporate EHS strategic goals.
