The Senior Safety Specialist - Chemical Process Safety is responsible for managing and supporting process safety programs for Adhesives Research, Inc. chemical manufacturing operations. This role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with hazardous chemicals, reactive processes, and high-energy systems. The position works closely with Engineering, Operations, and EHS leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and to promote safe, reliable chemical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Safety Management (PSM)
Help develop and maintain OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119) programs, as applicable.
Participate in or lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOPs, What-If analyses, and LOPA studies.
Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews to ensure safety risks are identified and controlled prior to implementation.
Maintain process safety documentation, including:
Process safety information
Operating procedures
Mechanical integrity records
Chemical Hazard & Risk Management
Evaluate risks associated with flammable, toxic, corrosive, and reactive chemicals.
Support safe storage, handling, and transfer of hazardous materials.

Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), ergonomic assessments, and exposure evaluations.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or processing environments.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA PSM, chemical hazard evaluation, and risk management.
Experience participating in or leading PHAs and MOC processes.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with high-hazard chemical operations (flammables, corrosives, toxics, pressure systems).
Experience supporting capital projects and startup safety reviews.
Professional certifications such as CHMM, ASP, CSP, or CCPSC.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily inspections, which cover job sites, vehicles, and work areas such as the yard, shop, and the offices
Report any safety violation found and ensure any unsafe conditions, equipment, and health hazards are corrected before leaving the location
Hold on‐site safety training when conditions warrant training
Hold bi‐monthly safety training for each crew using the Safety Van
Complete daily inspection meetings, 25‐35 inspections are required per week
Inspect equipment, tools, rigging, and PPE to ensure these are in safe conditions. If not, make sure the foreman/crew leader requests replacement items
Contact Safety Director to purchase required items
Identify company‐wide training needs based on violations and near misses
Investigate accident/incidents and complete accurate reports on the HCSS system, which may be used in court. Reports will be written and must have applicable photographs
Complete daily reports on the HCSS system
Report any problems and/or safety hazards to Safety Director
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, State regulations, and all safety policies and procedures
Will assist foreman as needed with problem areas and suggestions for corrections of safety
May perform other duties as assigned by Safety Director
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Overview
The Site Safety and Health Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a safety program that aligns with regulatory systems, contract strategies and organizational policies and procedures. The purpose of the SSHO is to protect the people, the environment, property, financial and other company, and customer resources. The incumbent advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve safe work practices and environments. The SSHO is accountable for partnering with department leaders to identify and train staff on behaviors and workflows that mitigate and manage risk. This position is designed to establish and maintain a strong safety culture through awareness and commitment, while mitigating risk factors, for operations and maintenance; logistics and transportation; and all supporting contract departments.
Salary Range: $117,000.00 - $127,000.00

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Develop, implement, and maintain Accident Prevention Plans designed for ensuring compliance with contract requirements, governing regulatory authorities and company policies.
* Acts as primary point of contact for all safety incidents; maintains accurate, organized, confidential case files.
* Conducts meetings to investigate incidents, report on findings and recommend actions.
* Acts as primary point of contact to advise, review and accept all contractor safety plans.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* Five (5)+ years of progressive experience with similar site EHS programs or;
* Three (3) years of relevant experience, in addition to holding a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification or a degree in Safety and Health.
* OSHA 30 Certification (Construction or General Industry).
* Current EM 385-1-1 (40) hour Certificate or obtain the certificate in first 90 days of employment
* Demonstrated experience in the following:
* Drafting safety policies, procedures and/or training documents.
* Investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
* Risk considerations associated with safety plans, work activities, and equipment usage.
* Use of operational metrics to measure a variety of safety stats and/or cost performance.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensure training is performed consistently and is conducive to learning
Perform ad hoc station training as needed
Serve as liaison with insurance company on both pre- and post-loss control in absence of Regional Safety Manager
Maintain information on all injury and liability claims and investigate as necessary
Perform statistical reporting and trend analysis at station level
Perform internal safety audits at station
Develop recommendations for policies and procedure manuals
Ensures station compliance with established company safety policies and procedures and ensures OSHA compliance
Safety, Security and Compliance:
All AGI Team members have a responsibility and duty while at work to:

Cooperate with their manager / supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in safety or in aviation preferred
If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001
Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience performing the same or similar tasks as an operator to be considered for a training role
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as demonstrated in training presentations, written manuals and accident investigations
Display math aptitude and analytical
Skills:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or work experience equivalent
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Be able to obtain a valid passport
Be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a 10-year extensive employment, criminal record and residence background check

Job Description:
As the Director of Safety and Security your scope of responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Leadership
* General oversight of the implementation and sustainment of a comprehensive safety and security strategy aligned with organizational goals.
* Lead, manage, and mentor the security and safety team.
* Advise senior leadership on safety, risk, and emergency preparedness.
* Works with the Security Services Supervisor to manage, train, and schedule security personnel as needed for 24/7 coverage to ensure the safety of residents, staff, family members and visitors.
Emergency Preparedness
* Overall responsibility for maintenance of the CKV Emergency Operations Plan and associated hazard specific annexes, business and organizational continuity of operation's planning (COOP), Disaster Recovery Plan development and on-going planning (DRP), residential and facility evacuation planning, active shooter plan development, and an annual hazard vulnerability assessment.
* Responsible for implementing a recurring training program for team members and residents in basic emergency management and on existing and new emergency operations plans and policies. Additional training requirements include basic incident management and incident command. Coordinates training with outside agencies to ensure readiness for a variety of emergency scenarios.
* Creates, coordinates, and oversees After Action Reports. Ensures action items are resolved in a timely manner. Reviews outcomes and action plans with Executive Team.
* Works with various departments, and vendors to perform periodic Emergency Preparedness assessments, perform policy reviews and updates
* Additional responsibilities include the development of Homeland Security and Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant exercises. This includes the development and implementation of both discussion based and operational exercises and conducting after action reporting and follow-up.
* Respond to emergencies on the CKV Campus and assume the role of the Incident Commander and Liaison Officer to outside organizations as the situation requires.
Security Operations
* Develop and maintain security protocols and incident response plans.
* Oversee physical security and monitoring systems, including access control, surveillance, alarms, and perimeter protection. Assists facility maintenance team with fire alarm system management.
* Coordinates with Security Services Supervisor to manage investigations related to security concerns, workplace violence, theft, and other incidents.
* Oversees training of IAHSS certification for security team.
* Acts as a liaison with law enforcement and other emergency services and AHJ's in situations which require their services, guidance, and/or intervention.
Safety & Risk Management
* Leads all activities of the Safety Committee. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and insurance requirements
* Works with Facility Maintenance leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, and other applicable health and safety regulations.
* Works closely with Risk Manager on safety and security concerns that increase CKV's risk exposure.
* Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard mitigation planning.
* Oversee the implementation of safety training programs across the organization.
* Meets regularly with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency responders, and regulatory agencies to maintain a positive relationship, look for ways to improve interactions, and works to resolve concerns.
Compliance & Reporting
* Maintain documentation and records required for regulatory compliance and internal reporting.
* Prepare reports for senior management on incidents, trends, and improvement initiatives.
* Maintains competency records for applicable training and education events. Ensures department team members stay within compliance
Budget & Resource Management
* Develop and manage departmental budget and allocate resources effectively.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies or systems to enhance safety and security.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, or similar program, with at least 8 years of prior emergency management experience working within a state or local emergency management program, healthcare, higher education, or similar organization's emergency management program is required.
* Experience managing or responding to incidents as part of an incident management team.
* The preferred candidate will have a minimum of ICS-400 level training, formally trained in the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), and formal training in business and/or organizational continuity.
* Must have comprehensive knowledge of all Federal, State and local regulations related to the safety and security of people and operations affecting CCRC.
* Must maintain relevant industry certifications and/or the ability to acquire pertinent certifications within 6 months of accepting the position.
* Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, WorxsHub, Kronos and other department specific applications.
* A valid driver's license is required.
* CPR/AED and first aid certification is required or must achieve certification within first 6 months of employment.
* Must be available for on-call responsibilities during emergencies or critical incidents.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work non-traditional hours as needed.
