Job Summary
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, maintains a safe environment for patients needing mental health intervention per LMHS policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with all patient caregivers to ensure patient receives safe and quality care. Reports changes in patient condition or behavior to appropriate caregiver. Provides companionship to patients that require continuous observation and intervenes appropriately when necessary. Provide supportive and basic care as directed by nursing staff.

Assists in applying safety policies and procedures and in employee safety training. Maintains assigned files and records including material safety data sheets and other paperwork ensuring compliance. May assist with aspects of hazardous material programs, assuring all hazardous materials are received, handled, shipped, stored, labeled and disposed of in accordance with company and government regulations.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A two year degree or equivalent is preferred.
Requires foundational understanding and ability to train others in company, state and federal safety policies and regulations. Developing ability to train others in correct use of safety equipment. Must have foundational knowledge of biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
