Cons of working at Safeway

Management or corporate does not care about their employees. Hire ups make millions and the bosses are cutting employees hours. Managers don't know how to speak or deal with their employees. You give your best to a company and they treat you like your not worth anything. I don't see it changing now or in the future

Safeway benefits

None

How would you improve Safeway's culture?

Treating the employees better and give them what they are worth

What do you like best about Safeway's CEO and the leadership team?

Okay

What's the diversity at Safeway like?

Okay

What brings you the most joy at Safeway?

Pros of working at Safeway

None

Cons of working at Safeway

They do not follow their valus, mission, or union rules....it's all ambiguous. Very pitiful place....."white boys club"

Safeway benefits

I have insurance.

What do you like best about Safeway's CEO and the leadership team?

Nothing because they don't care about retaining employees, don't offer any training or advancement. The leadership team have no communication skills; extremely inadequate people....

How would you improve Safeway's culture?

They need to start from scratch; rebuild, rehire, retrain everyone from top to bottom......need to CARE about elevating employees especially women and people of color!

How did you prepare for the Safeway interview?

I didn't because I was already over qualified for the job....interview was 4 questions of why I would be good for the position. Really! I took the job because I was relearning to walkvafter an accident.

How does your compensation at Safeway compare to the industry average?

Very low

What's the diversity at Safeway like?

Yes

What brings you the most joy at Safeway?

Nothing. There is so much gossip, drama, laziness and no one solving workplace issues it's miserable and painful to go to work.

Pros of working at Safeway

I like the employee discount

Cons of working at Safeway

I didn't like that it was a learn as you go, without any proper training. Also, if your good worker it takes a long time to get a raised because of the employee budget. Most of the time managers don't know what they're doing or how to lead. If you are a good worker, you'll end up doing the work of 2 or 3 people
