Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College (SCTC) is a small, two-year institution
of higher learning that is located in scenic Mount Pleasant, Michigan. SCTC was formed with the intention of sustaining the Anishnaabe culture
and values through academics and higher education. Academics include
associate's degree programs in Business, Liberal Arts, and Native
American Studies. For all degree programs, there are general education
requirements that need to be met as well. Academic advisors are available to those who need assistance with classes
and degree planning. Applicants for admissions to SCTC must take a COMPASS placement exam or
submit official high school or college transcripts, showing that they
already completed equivalent coursework. Students have the option of transferring credits from other institutions
and applying them to an associate's degree at SCTC. Those students must
have maintained a minimum GPA, and they must submit documentation of
credits for evaluation and consideration by the school's curriculum
committee. Federal and private sources of financial aid are provided to those who
are eligible. Tribal scholarships are also granted to qualifying
