Full-Time Perioperative Services (OR/Pre-Op/PACU) Nurse Manager
to join our team.
This position will be an exempt level position and schedule is typically Monday - Friday: Day Shift.
Perioperative Services (OR/Pre-Op/PACU) Nurse Manager
Position Summary:
The OR/Preop/Pacu RN Manager has responsibility for supervising staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards of practice, TJC standards, and per direction of Director of Perioperative Services. The manager assesses the department flow and delivery of nursing care to ensure that quality and safety are at the highest level. The manager continually seeks ways to promote efficiencies in the department operations and engages the staff in these discussions by promoting shared governance as well as enhancing communication throughout the departments. This individual assists in scrub and circulator roles to assist staff as needed to provide patient care. Accountabilities may also include overseeing supply and equipment requirements for cases, Partners and coordinates with OR Educator regarding orientation plans for new staff. The Assists in the evaluation process of staff members in the OR, and managing projects as assigned by the Director of Surgical Services. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Manager identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.
The Manager collaborates effectively with other department's leadership to form collegial relationships focused on patient outcomes, safety, and quality. The manager is a part of the Nursing leadership team and will make decisions operationally that are focused on the Nursing Strategic Plan.
Required Skills:
Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing.
Baccalaureate degree preferred.
Three (3) year experience in surgery. Supervisory experience, preferred.
Current Texas RN License
BLS
Must attain ACLS, and PALS by 90 days of hire.
CNOR preferred
Independent decision making skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room and Preop /PACU phases of care and recovery
Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
