Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Either a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills. Ability to utilize excellent communicate with surgeons, physicians, and other health care staff regarding Cardiac Ultrasound results. Ability to serve in on-call rotation after regular business hours.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in the performance of advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures. Performs adequately adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress echo and/or can perform either adult and/or pediatric cardiac procedures and perform peripheral vascular procedures including arterials, renals, and transcranial Doppler. Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures. Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers and digital networking system. Exercises appropriate judgment in notification of abnormal results to reading physician, as well as evaluating and reporting findings to the cardiologist. Assist the physician with studies and aid them in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease potential associated procedural risks including Procedures in the (OR, Hybrid lab, Cath lab and CAD) to include TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), SAVR (Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement), Tandem heart, Lariet procedures and pseudoaneurysm compression. Maintains proper documentation of data according to lab, departmental, and hospital policy. Documents all procedures accurately in departmental tracking process. Documents accurately and efficiently all procedural data necessary. Processes charging and other necessary data efficiently/accurately. Documents consistently and accurately in patient chart. Collaborates in the maintenance of departmental efficiency. Anticipates needs in equipment and supplies. Uses resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Maintains current competency and registry (ARDMS or CCI) in the 2 specialty practices. Demonstrates initiative in personal/professional development. The Cardiovascular Sonographer is a trained medical imaging professional with an advanced understanding of echocardiography and vascular ultrasound to acquire appropriate echocardiographic and/or vascular data to provide the highest quality of care. Cardiovascular Sonographers have an in depth understanding of the cardiovascular system including anatomy and pathophysiology to obtain diagnostic images and prepare preliminary reports for review and interpretation by the Cardiologist. This position works independently and may be required to work weekends, cover call, and rotate holidays as needed. Additionally Cardiovascular Sonographers may be required to float to alternate Integris sites as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Completion of a CAAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program or equivalent clinical experience (Students must be within 60 days of graduation to be eligible for employment)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Complete exams within the required timeframe.
Identifies and defines abnormalities specific to the procedure.
Extends the scope of the exam appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary and correlates other diagnostic test results with anatomy and function.
Perform multiple ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques. Make necessary measurements for accurate, high-quality results. These procedures include but are not limited to:

The Cardiovascular Sonographer is a trained medical imaging professional with an advanced understanding of echocardiography and vascular ultrasound to acquire appropriate echocardiographic and/or vascular data to provide the highest quality of care. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Completion of a CAAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program or equivalent clinical experience (Students must be within 60 days of graduation to be eligible for employment)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

The UltrasoundTechnologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Reviews in-patient requisitions and prioritizes patient list in order of severity of illness, special procedures, special requests and equipment availability; revises patient schedule as new procedures are requested and circumstances change
Develops film by automatic processing in a timely manner; manipulates laser printer and processor as necessary to obtain the highest quality images
Performs daily quality control checks on the processor and generates a monthly report of the results summary
Manages the procurement, storage, and routing of supplies for room preparation
Ensures reusable instruments are delivered to the appropriate department for sterilization
For Echocardiographers diagnostic duties include but are not limited to:
Performs echocardiography on adults and pediatric patients
Performs peripheral vascular procedures
For Lakeside Women's Hospital:
