Designed, Developed and Configured ladder logic and structured text for Electrical Switchgear. g. Participate in and develop documentation for factory and on-site acceptance testing (FAT and SAT respectively), as well as perform start-up and commissioning activities as required. h. Ensure that the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered to all aspects of Site Services. i. Provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including after sales support. Minimum Qualifications • BSEE or equivalent from an accredited institution • General knowledge of at least one of the following: a. Automation and Control Systems b. Power Systems c. Protective Relaying d.     The Junior Automation Controls Engineer will primarily focus on supporting products manufactured in the High Point facility. This role involves providing highly-skilled technical support for industrial machinery problem diagnostics, commissioning new automation and its control systems, and supporting repair operations. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Timely response to troubleshooting requests from the manufacturing floor and external parties to diagnose, repair, and update automation control systems. Modify and update PLC and HMI programs to support system upgrades, repairs, or customer-requested changes. Assist with designing, installing, commissioning, and start-up of new automation equipment at Amada facilities or customer sites. Provide in-person factory, remote, and occasional work site technical support, training, and guidance for Amada manufacturing staff, field service technicians, and/or customer staff. Document support activities, including test results, system changes, and recommended improvements. Work closely with multiple engineering groups to gather system specifications, communicate regarding system information and updates, understand field issues, and relay in-house, field, or customer feedback. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and customer site requirements during all activities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Prefer 2 years of experience in a control engineering position and/or multiple years of experience as a high-level control technician. Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial automation, field service of automated machinery, or a closely related technical role. Highly proficient in troubleshooting PLC-based control systems (Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar). Experience with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system drawings. Skilled with test instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators. Experience with VFDs, servo drives, motion control systems, and sensors. Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
