POSITION OBJECTIVE:

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The Public Policy & Commodity Division (PPCD) Intern is a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship. The Agricultural Insurance Internship is a partnership between five different departments within Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies. Interns who are a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship will get to have unique experiences in our Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency and Public Policy & Commodity Division spaces. While you will be hired into one space, you will go through rotational Wednesdays, where you spend each Wednesday within one of the five departments listed in the Agricultura Insurance Internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist PPCD staff and Regional Managers as needed with planning local District Policy Development meetings and provide on-site assistance. Explore and develop recommendations for utilizing online and other communication tools for engaging members in policy discussion.
Assist PPCD departments with planning Advisory/Task Force meetings and provide on-site assistance.
Assist PPCD staff with efforts and/or research for ongoing or new programs/issues such as but not limited to: the value of membership based on legislative/regulatory success, the Michigan Manure Hauler Certification Program, environmental permitting program impacts, timely conservation and environmental policy issues. This may include specific project(s) for the intern to complete.
Assist with reviewing material related to policy, conservation, legislation, and politics on Michigan Farm Bureau's Website and offer recommendations for improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be currently enrolled at a college or university and have declared a major course of study moving closer to (or working toward) graduation.
Experience: Office experience preferred. Interest and experience with policy, politics and legislative process, legislative/historical research, and agriculture.

HBIO is a large undergraduate academic program serving a wide variety of students interested in health and biomedical science careers. The successful candidate will become part of a teaching team that is developing and implementing a new, innovative, core curriculum focused on biology, health, and community, with a specific goal of preparing HBIO students to address challenges in health, medicine, and the biomedical sciences. We welcome applications from candidates with a variety of experiences and disciplinary backgrounds including cell biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, developmental biology, discipline-based education research, and related fields. Appointment will be at the assistant professor level.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to collaboratively teach HBIO 410: Cellular Basis of Disease, a course in which students explore human cell biology concepts through the study of human disease. The course structure encourages students to practice scientific reasoning skills including building and interpreting models, learning the methods used to study cell biology, analyzing scientific literature, and communicating complex scientific information to a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to at least one other course in our curriculum; HBIO 295: Human Biology and Society, an introductory course that focuses on societal impacts on disease and health information literacy or HBIO 495: Capstone in Human Biology, an upper-level course that focuses on science writing and communication.

Though you will function as one of the primary worship leaders for our weekend services and/or Salt Company, one of the key responsibilities of this role is to raise up new leaders for our worship teams and production team and empower them to lead. We have a culture of leading in plurality, we're in a college town (aka. a hub for up and coming leaders), and we're a sending church! Raising up and empowering new leaders is mission critical.
Work with the Worship Director to execute the systems and processes that are part of our pipeline for developing the next wave of worship and production leaders. This includes developing them in both their competency (skill) and their character (heart).
Help Execute, Lead and Give Oversight to our Worship Services (Sundays & Salt Company)
Work with the Worship Director to plan and execute our different worship gatherings. This includes set planning, scheduling teams, communicating with teams, rehearsals, and evaluating these worship gatherings on the back end.
This will also include training and becoming proficient on tech and production
Support and Resource other ministries in our church
Give support to and resource the music and production needs of other ministries in our church (ie. The Commons Youth, The Commons Kids, special events, etc…)

The Worship Resident will work with our Worship Director to help shepherd our church and its various ministries by using your worship leadership gifts and your heart for discipleship to lead our worship gatherings and to develop and empower people in our church to use their gifts in leading worship. All of this will be undertaken while developing your gifts and abilities in order to mobilize you for long-term ministry.

The Auto Glass Technician is a key member of our team responsible for the quality and efficient installation and repair of auto glass. You will help develop new customers by identifying opportunities to sell additional work. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. You are self-motivated, thrive in fast-moving environments, and able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. With proven communication skills, you are eager to learn from trained professionals and take the next step in your career.Specific Responsibilities:
Assist with repair and replacement of auto glass according to specified procedures
Help ensure the efficient use of materials and maintain adequate stock of installation supplies on vehicle
Keep company vehicle and equipment properly serviced, clean, and in good working order and condition
Complete invoices, daily route sheets, and weekly reports as required
Execute Service with Advanced Training (SWAT)
Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
Job Requirements:
Prior experience in the auto glass industry a plus
Physical ability to lift heavy objects such as windshields, etc.
Proficiency to navigate tablet-based technology
Excellent communication skills
Professional appearance and personality
