We are currently hiring for a full time mid-shift Behavioral Health Tech to support our facility. * Assists in providing a safe and therapeutic milieu environment for all patients in compliance with agency policies and procedures. * Observes reports and records patient behaviors under the supervision of RN. * Implements the behavioral interventions described in the treatment plan. * Conducts educational and treatment focused groups with patients as appropriate with training and supervision. * May be trained as CMT to administer meds to long term residential population. Required: * Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 1 - 3 years of related experience, preferably working with at risk youth. * Clean driving record. * Computer skills Shift is 0900-2130 24 hours/week. Instructs patients on segments of the program including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices. Recommends modification or changes in the patient's program based on own evaluation of progress. Confers as necessary with physicians concerning alternatives available. 3. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports and discharge summaries. 4. Communicates observations, facts and comments with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to ensure efficient coordination of the overall health care plan. 5. Provides guidance and direction to those staff members assigned to assist in patient care. 6. Maintains department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality initiative program, safety and infection control. Adheres to hospital wide safety responsibilities: Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and other employees. Maintains a working knowledge of all hospital safety policies and procedures (including fire safety and disaster protocol). Follows all safety practices on equipment.     Behavioral Health Technician - John A. Hudak Treatment Center - Diversion Bed Program Base Pay: $16.38/hour - This position is eligible for a $0.50 shift differential for any evening shifts worked, and a $1.00 shift differential for any overnight shifts worked. Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Shift: 11:00 PM - 9:00 AM Wednesday - Saturday Minimum Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma/GED/HSE required. * Preference will be given to those with at least two years' experience in Healthcare or Mental Health field or with an undergraduate degree. * Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation. John A. Hudak Treatment Center Overview: The John A Hudak Treatment Center is a new 24/7 Diversion Bed Program which offers an alternative for individuals at risk of hospitalization and an opportunity to stabilize while remaining in the community. The primary goals of the program are to restore individuals in non-emergency crisis to their previous level of functioning, prevent trauma associated with readmission to an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and to allow individuals to resume independent living as soon as possible. Division beds can also be used to help transition individuals back into the community after hospitalization by providing short-term supervised support. Common reasons for referrals for an individual include: * Needs oversight for safety, but not actively suicidal; * Needs temporary stabilization due to exacerbation of symptoms; * Needs respite from real or imagined stressors at home or in the community; * Are medication non-compliant, but in agreement to take medication as prescribed if admitted; and, * Self-care is significantly impaired. Your Job as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) As a BHT you are responsible for the oversight of the clients' safety and mental well-being as well as the physical plant facilities. This includes assisting clients with skill building, participating in groups and social activities, and intervening in crisis situations when needed. To be successful in this role, you would need to have a high level of communication skills, model behavior to clients, and promote client-centered treatment. Key Responsibilities * Client Care: Provide care that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment based on a trauma-informed approach. Educate clients on daily living activities, self-care, and functional living skills such as anger management, impulse control, and emotional coping. * Activity Participation: Engage in recreational and social activities with clients to support their treatment plans. * Collaboration: Work closely with the treatment team to coordinate client care services and ensure comprehensive support. * Observation and Documentation: Complete and chart client observations, conduct checks of personal belongings, rooms, and grounds, and ensure compliance with agency policies. * Emergency Response: Monitor client conditions, respond to medical emergencies or elopement, and intervene in behavioral health crises as needed. * Medication Management: Distribute medications according to agency policies, document administration, and report any medication errors immediately. * Facility Maintenance: Assist in cleaning the facility and grounds as needed to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Must have the following: Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, ability to obtain a Class E license, and proof of continuous auto insurance.
