Essential Job Functions Tasks to be performed by a DCW must be assigned by and performed under the supervision of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and/or appropriate supervisor, who will be responsible for the client care provided by the DCW. Under no circumstances may a DCW be assigned any responsibilities related to any intravenous procedures; procedures involving the administration of oral, sublingual, subcutaneous, transdermal, rectal or topical medications; or any other sterile or invasive procedures.
