How would you rate the starting salaries for trade analysts, as well as the prospects for salary advancement?

Dawn Gomez Ph.D.

Assistant Director of Career Services, Texas A&M University-

I would rate graduate salaries in the Business field very, very strong - especially in Accounting and Finance, Marketing & Social Media, and Business Analytics - not only in salary and advancement but in growth potential. For example, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, the average for all occupations across the U.S. is projected to be 4% from 2019-2029, but beginning Accountants and Auditors can earn about $55k to $60k to start, and those with CPA or on course to earn CPA certification can earn upwards of $71,000 as a median with CPA and some experience in accounting. Management Analysts are expected to grow 11%, and Financial Managers are expected to grow 15% compared with the median average, which is projected 4%. Overall, Business degrees are remaining steady in all categories for faster-than-average growth, pay, and advancement, strongest for those with experience AND advanced degrees.
