The only college in Salem County, New Jersey, Salem Community College (SCC) in Penns Grove offers a range of traditional and specialized degree programs and is constantly growing and expanding to include more. At SCC you can study such fields as Business Administration, Criminal Justice, English, Respiratory Therapy and Social Service. You can also major in a highly specialized program of study such as Agribusiness, Digital Media, Glass Crafting and Design, Homeland Security, Nuclear Energy Technology, Personal Training and Studio Art. Another way that SCC has expanded to serve more students is through its continuing education programs, which are offered at SCC's three additional mini-campuses located throughout the county. Student services at SCC provide tutoring, academic advising, career counseling and study-skills workshops. SCC also encourages its students to get involved in campus activities such as its L.E.A.D. or student government program. Admission is open to any student with a high school diploma or GED. However, students must also either submit SAT or ACT scores or take a school placement exam prior to enrolling. While tuition is made as affordable as possible many students also apply for financial aid to help offset costs.
