A sales administrative coordinator is responsible for creating and developing a workflow used to track sales and achieve the revenue goals of the organization. You are expected to liaise with the client, keep track of sales, interpret the sales goal of the organization, and provide relevant support to the sales representative. Not just this, but you will support sales, ensure order satisfaction, motivate staff, handle administrative duties, and coordinate with other departments. The coordinator must also be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, pay keen attention to customers, and multitask. You will be responsible for training new sales representatives and introducing new sales techniques and procedures. You will also work closely with customers by helping them find alternative and supporting products.

A sales administrative coordinator must have a bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, or other related courses. In this career line, you must be proficient in using Microsoft packages, especially excel. A sales administrative coordinator makes an average of $27.75.

What general advice would you give to a sales administrative coordinator?

Anne McConnell Ph.D.

Professor, West Virginia State University

I would say it's important to be very attentive to the way you communicate with your employers, managers, and co-workers. Even sending an e-mail can be an opportunity to demonstrate your professionalism and communication skills. Some people think that no one knows how to write anymore, or how to communicate in a professional way. I don't think that's true. But we don't always think about how our writing can be a tool to communicate our competence and seriousness. If you know how to write and communicate professionally-which college grads do-then make sure to demonstrate that in the workplace.
