Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone. Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules. Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Tracks stock levels. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries. Attends trade shows. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior building materials industry experience preferred. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
