This role partners closely with account executives and business development to design, quote and position business connectivity and communications solutions. The ideal candidate understands ISP &MSP technologies and can translate customer requirements into scalable, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Perform onsite customer surveys, including site walk-throughs to assess customer locations and technical requirements as needed to support solution design and service delivery Participate in-person customer meetings and joint sales calls with account executives as needed to support complex or strategic opportunities Design solutions that integrate ISP-delivered services with customer-owned or MSP-managed infrastructure Scope and quote managed services including monitoring, alerting, configuration management and ongoing support Collaborate with internal NOC, Engineering and service delivery teams to ensure solutions are operationally supportable Evaluate existing enterprise networks and recommend modernization or optimization strategies Serve as the technical subject matter expert supporting business sales opportunities from discovery through contract signature Design and quote Metro Ethernet services including EVCs, Internet Access, and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), wave transport, point-to-point fiber, and private WAN solutions Develop and quote solutions for managed networking services - including routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN, etc. Develop and quote voice solutions - including Hosted Voice, SIP Trunking, PRI and legacy POTS services Understanding and being able to quote Business Cable Internet and PON-based services Conduct technical discovery calls with customers to understand requirements and propose an accurate solution Assist with RFP/RFQ responses - including technical narratives and solution diagrams Present solutions to customers alongside Sales, explaining technical concepts in clear business terms Stay current on product offerings, network capabilities and industry trends Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management to support business objectives and organizational needs Qualifications and Key Attributes: Associate's degree in computer science or related field 3+ years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer or Network Engineer role within an ISP, carrier or MSP environment Experience supporting enterprise and multi-site customers, including complex network environments with diverse requirements Established residency in Pennsylvania Valid PA Driver's License and good driving record Strong understanding of: Metro Ethernet (E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, EVCs) MPLS and Private Layer 3 WAN architectures Internet Access and DIA architecture Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts Voice technologies (SIP, PRI, POTS, hosted voice) Business cable and PON access technologies Experience in creating accurate quotes and solution proposals Possess a strong sense of ownership and drive Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, follow-through and delivering high-quality solutions Excellent Communications Skills - Oral and Written Strong Project Management Skills Strong Problem-Solving Skills with a customer-centric mindset Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced sales environment Ability to interpret and/or develop network diagrams and technical documentation Ability to meet project timelines, sales deadlines and customer commitments in a fast-paced environment Ability bridging technical and non-technical conversations Ability to collaborate and be a team player who works well with Sales and Engineering Additional Qualifications Preferred: Experience designing and quoting MPLS and Private L3 WAN deployments Experience with point-to-point fiber and diverse path/redundant design.
