A sales support associate is a member of a sales team whose job entails supporting sales representatives in meeting sales quotas. Sales support associates perform administrative and data entry tasks, respond to customer inquiries, back up the sales team with information, process orders, and manage customers' accounts.

This is an entry-level position you can start with no more than a high school diploma. Experience in administrative positions might boost your chances of getting hired, but this is really something you can get the hang of pretty quickly. Interpersonal skills are a different matter. You will be dealing with clients a lot, so it is really better for everyone if you actually enjoy talking to them. And if you really can only concentrate on doing one thing at a time, maybe this job is not for you.

Sales positions are always on demand, and this is no different for sales support associates positions, with an expected steady 5% growth until 2028. Using the experience you gain on this job, you will easily be able to switch to any customer service position or other sales roles of your choice later on.
