Position Description
The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is adding two full-time tenure track positions (open rank) with a focus in psychological clinical science. We invite applicants with strong programs of research and who have strengths in applying novel methodological or analytical approaches to their work. A successful candidate should be well-funded or have high potential for funding. A sophisticated line of research related to psychopathology or clinical science that connects in some way to that of current departmental faculty or augments and extends existing programs is essential. Preference for one of the positions will be given for complementing existing department strengths in child development and/or expertise in early childhood disorders or child psychopathology. Additionally, we are particularly interested in candidates whose research agenda emphasizes achieving representative samples in research, particularly regarding the influence of social and cultural factors on psychopathology and disparities in mental health access and/or outcomes. Responsibilities include contributions to clinical training, research mentorship, and undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in psychological clinical science. Both positions will serve as core faculty in the psychological clinical science concentration, which is accredited by the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS) and is the first program in the nation to receive approval under PCSAS's process for newly established programs.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited program and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service is required prior to appointment. Postdoctoral training is desirable. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences. It also houses multiple pioneering AI-engaged faculty innovating in the fields of cognitive science and human-computer interface research. For example, psychology faculty are active participants in several BBS affiliated research centers at UT Dallas including the Center for BrainHealth, Center for Vital Longevity, and Center for Children and Families, with multiple centers led by Psychology faculty.

Job Description
This is a tenure track position that works collaboratively with the faculty in coordinating the implementation of respective programs of study. Demonstrates command of content in an area of specialization. Develops classroom and clinical learning activities that facilitate learning.
Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with the faculty in coordinating the implementation of respective programs of study. Demonstrates command of content in an area of specialization. Develops classroom and clinical learning activities that facilitate learning.
Uses innovative, state of the art teaching methodologies and learning activities that promote excellence in classroom and online teaching. Coordinates orientation and teaching across the curriculum of students' theory and/or clinical teaching.
Plans, implements, and evaluates assigned course offerings, including clinical and practice courses. Assists in the development of, monitoring/ maintenance of, and reporting of curriculum content for the education of baccalaureate, masters (advance practice nurse) and doctoral students in accordance with national standards and accreditation bodies (AACN, ACEN, NLN, NONPF).
Serves as an academic advisor and research mentor to students and faculty, and communities of interest. Assumes a leadership role in academic programs and committee responsibilities. Serves as a member of the CON Faculty Organization. Participates in and demonstrates leadership in CON and PVAMU committees and taskforces. Submits an annual faculty performance portfolio representative of documentation of teaching effectiveness, scholarship/research, and service.
Articulates a defined program of research. Directs and engage in research that contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and nursing science. Exhibits leadership in research for increased collaboration with nursing colleagues and other disciplines. Disseminates scholarly work in professional publications/presentation at local or state meetings. Demonstrates leadership through increased participation University activities and committees. Participates actively in local, state, national, international nursing, and professional organizations.
Required Education & Experience:
Master's degree in nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner, and a PhD or doctorate equivalent in an area specialization and from an accredited institution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in classroom education/teaching and/or clinical nursing education.
Demonstrated past performance in the scholarship of nursing, including and not limited to research, scientific manuscripts, grant writing, technology, etc.
Experience in providing didactic education content at the doctoral level.
Commitment to working with students and colleagues across the campus community.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and service in nursing education and practice.
Demonstrated past performance in the scholarship of nursing, including and not limited to research, scientific manuscripts, grant writing, technology, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to working with students and colleagues across the campus community.
Required Licensure and/or Certification:
Current licensure or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
Appropriate national certification in specialty area, if an advanced practice nurse.

Job Title Assistant Professor (Justice Studies) Agency Prairie View A&M University Department Department Of Justice Studies Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Type Faculty Job Description The position is a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Justice Studies at Prairie View A&M University. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be for candidates who can teach courses across the curriculum and programs offered in the department. Additionally, the candidate is expected to engage in scholarly research (e.g., publish peer-reviewed journal articles, scholarly books, seeking external grants, etc.), and engage in professional service at the university and within the discipline.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
* Teach classes face-to-face or online as assigned by the Department Head.
* Deliver class content in a receptive manner to meet course objectives.
* Create and post course syllabi to make it accessible to students.
* Ensure the course readings and assignments are directly related to the course descriptions.
* Grade assignments and/or provide feedback in a timely manner.
* Submit final grades by the university deadlines.
* Mentor students on research projects.
* Publish research in scholarly outlets (e.g., peer-reviewed journals, scholarly books with an academic press, etc.).
* Serve on committees as assigned by the Department Head.
* Serve on dissertation committees of students in the department's Ph.D. program.
Required Education and Experience:
* Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice or a closely related field. Applicants with only a J.D. will not be considered.
* At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience.
* A.B.D. will be considered conferral of degree by 8/1/2026.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Two plus years of teaching.
* Research portfolio that includes peer reviewed publications and some experience applying for external research funding.
* Mentoring and assessment of student learning.
* Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field, improve teaching skills, and explore new instructional strategies.
* Participate in institutional service roles including department/college/university committees.
Other Requirements:
* Seek external funding for research projects.
* Engage in appropriate service in the discipline and community.

Job Title Assistant Professor of the Practice (Social Work) Agency Prairie View A&M University Department Dept of Social Work Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Type Faculty Job Description The Department of Social Work in the College of Arts and Sciences at Prairie View A&M University invites applications for a Assistant Professor of the Practice (non-tenure-track), nine-month, Social Work faculty position. The position is for 50 % teaching at the BSW/MSW level, 30% Field Education assistance to Director of Field Education and student's advisement, and 20% service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, teaching five classes each semester, advising students, participating in curriculum and program development, tasks specific to accreditation, student recruitment and retention, student services, community outreach, and serving on committees.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
* Teach five courses (15 credit semester hours) each semester, advise department of Social Work students (BSW/MSW), work with Director of Field Education to assist students with internship placements, participate in Department of Social Work curriculum and program development, and serve on the Department of Social Work committees.
* Assist the MSW Field Director with students' internship placements and supervision.
* Engage in student recruitment, committee assignments at all levels of the University, College, Department of Social Work, and provide services to the community and the profession.
Required Education & Experience:
* An MSW (Master of Social Work) from a CSWE (Council on Social Work Education) accredited program).
* Earned doctorate in Social Work or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years post-MSW practice experience, at least three years of which must be direct clinical practice.
* LMSW Clinical licensure, or Licensure eligible
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Online teaching experience.
* Student advisement.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated commitment and respect in working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
* A record of publication commensurate with appointment at the rank of assistant/associate professor and evidence of ongoing research projects.
* A record of extramural funding.
* Evidence of effective teaching at the graduate levels.
* Strong collegial, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills.
* Evidence of a relational approach to working with students and colleagues;.
* Knowledge of relevant national accrediting bodies and professional standards, including CSWE accreditation processes.
