The IT Enterprise Architect, focusing on B2B platforms, is an individual contributor to large, transformational programs and is responsible for taking a practical approach to supporting a high-growth business. This starts and ends with a focus on signature-ready, actionable recommendations that achieve targeted business outcomes. Periodically, the role will lead transformational IT project teams to deliver systems that deliver targeted business benefits. The individual will report directly to the VP of Applications Delivery responsible for B2B, Membership, Marketing, Integration Services, Data Warehouse, Analytics, and Cloud Architecture.
The position is a key IT leadership role responsible for helping business leaders enable their future-state business capabilities through programs, projects, and initiatives. This role will be responsible for understanding business requirements, translating them into system requirements, and working with the extended IT organization to determine a path forward. This role must work in lockstep with the B2B business team and development teams within IT, Digital, and external software vendor organizations. They must work daily with the development teams to help identify and remove roadblocks and find alternatives to complex challenges. This role will be the single point of contact within IT for the B2B organization. It will partner with the business to build a technical roadmap accompanied by a business-prioritized backlog.
The Enterprise Architect must be capable of practically applying existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models. Conversely, they must be able to understand, monetize and operationalize new technologies. The individual will be responsible for leading, managing, and balancing the efficiency and predictability of the existing IT landscape with designing and enabling future-state business capabilities with a focus on technology disruption, speed, agility, flexibility, and business continuity.
The Enterprise Architect will primarily focus on B2B Transformation, leading the design and construct of future state business models and driving both strategy and execution, working side-by-side with business stakeholders. At times, this position will support the broader IT landscape and partner with other Enterprise and Solution Architects across IT and Digital organizations to deliver business solutions.
The Enterprise Architect will demonstrate competencies across two key dimensions:
1. Lead and Influence
Both captures, derive, and comprehend B2B business requirements and make associated business solution recommendations.
Assess and recommend changes to the existing B2B SAP systems with an eye on optimizing the B2B sales cycle, prioritizing prospects, and improving KPI metrics.
Lead B2B implementations, utilizing SAP and Salesforce, providing oversight and hands-on contributions to the software design, development, and integration.
Lead and positively influence the estimation efforts for associated B2B initiatives.
Work closely and coordinates with a wide range of stakeholders, including project managers, business partners, process leads, architects, business analysts, testers & developers, engineers, and third parties, to review business requirements, analyze solution feasibility and prepare & execute technical solution design, architecture, and implementations.
2. Focus on Strategy and Execution
Help to formulate, translate, advocate, support, and execute B2B business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes.
Understand the business's economic and financial levers susceptible to transformation to effectively support and guide technology investment decisions.
Process-oriented business architect – highly effective at facilitating process reviews with B2B business stakeholders and documenting user and system interactions.
Experience designing technical architecture and/or implementing solutions using industry-leading B2B platforms.
Guide and advise stakeholders about disruptive technologies and trends.
Experience designing highly integrated architectures using batch and real-time interfaces with backend ERP (i. e., SAP ECC) and other systems of record.
Skilled in defining a current and future state operating model that highlights the required resources and organizational structure to support the B2B business.
Lead analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement and driving the business forward.
Minimum Credentials:
Master's or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in B2B application experience and software development
10+ years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and business analysis
Familiarity with SAP (B2B) or Salesforce Commerce Cloud-related platforms
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical and technical skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to develop solid and lasting business relationships
Familiarity with IT practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, Enterprise Architecture (EA), and ITIL operating frameworks
Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics
Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture
Knowledge of business engineering principles and processes with a focus on B2B
Competencies:
