This position is required to perform a variety of radiological technical procedures specific to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a high volume outpatient setting. Responsible for producing high quality radiographic images while interacting with all patients in a caring and comforting manner. Jointly responsible for performing required quality control activities as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the FDA. Dependant on location, may be required to utilize general radiography skills to perform diagnostic radiology exams.

New graduates from accredited radiologic technology programs are strongly encouraged to apply. While onboarding and comprehensive professional development will be provided, candidates must successfully complete our mandatory 48-hour mammography training course prior to commencing employment.

Successful completion of a formal radiologic technology training program, which meets the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Join our Operating Room team as a Surgical Technologist in a Level I Trauma Center! The Surgical Technologist functions as an active member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person. This includes assisting the Circulator with the preparation of the O.R. suite by reviewing the preference card for the appropriate supplies, assists with the gathering of equipment and instrumentation, practices department procedures for hand scrub, gowning and gloving, accurately prepares drugs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, sets up sterile instruments, suture and all sterile supplies and maintains sterile field of instruments and supplies during procedures. The Surgical Technologist anticipates and communicates the surgeon's needs and has instruments & supplies readily available for use.

Work Schedule:
This is a 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). Work schedule will be a mix of day (7:00 am - 3:00 pm) and evening (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) shifts, and occasional overnight (11:00 pm -7:00 am). There are also weekend responsibilities approximately every 8th weekend. Holiday and vacation rotations per seniority.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a surgical technologist training program
Completion of national certification exam offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) within 12 months of hire date. Certification to be maintained by employee during length of employment.
CPR certification required at time of employment and every two years thereafter

Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and is able to anticipate the required instrumentation for each step of a surgical procedure.
Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
Keeps the circulating nurse informed of upcoming patient care needs.

Establishes and maintains an organized sterile field and applies principles of asepsis.

Job Summary
Works with the surgical team to deliver patient care during surgery.
Primary Duties:
* Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
* Demonstrates close attention to detail regarding aseptic technique at all times.
* Performs all counts as defined in the OR policies and procedures measured by documentation on the OR record.
* Maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand per standardize set ups.
* Identifies sterility of instruments knows all indicator parameters.
* Anticipates the surgical routine and acts proactively according to surgeon's instructions
* Remains and demonstrate an ability to handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
* Asks appropriate questions to enhance the care of the patient
* Handles medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
* Handles records, labels, and specimens according to established policy and procedure.
* Participates in patient safety activities including pre-surgical pause.

Surgical Technician - Surgery General - Providence Mount Carmel Hospital at Colville, WA
Schedule: Part Time, Day Shift, 32 hours a week
Responsible to function as the surgical technician in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. The surgical technician will, under the direction of the circulating RN, perform tasks which consists of the selection and set-up of the sterile table with instruments, supplies and equipment; the passing of instruments to the surgeon during the procedure; maintaining sterile technique and caring for instruments following the procedure. The Surgical technicians will, under the supervision of the RN, assist in circulating duties as assigned and assume the defined role of surgical tech, relief tech or turnover team member in order to meet the key performance indicators for the efficient flow of patients through the OR experience.
