A Day in the Life of an Operation Christmas Child Seasonal Warehouse Dock Worker Serve with Samaritans Purse as an Operation Christmas Child Seasonal Warehouse Dock Worker you will work with thousands of employees and volunteers to help bring Jesus love to children around the world. The Samaritans Purse Warehouse Team Member opportunity provides Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Processing Centers with seasonal qualified staff to help assist during the shoebox processing season of OCC. You are acting as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to bring joy to children, families, and communities. You, or someone you know, may be an ideal candidate to serve in as a Warehouse Team Member in one of our Processing Centers. This is a full-time, seasonal commitment that runs from November to December. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and possess a desire to serve the Lord in a hands-on ministry. Positions are temporary, full-time (40+ hours per week including Saturdays). Screening requirements include social media review and pastoral/spiritual mentor screen. Desired Skills: * Able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. (consistently over a 7 to 8 hour shift if a dock worker) * Must be a team player * Inventory and pallet jack experience * Familiarity with trucking and/or container inventory requirements * Familiarity with barcode scanning A brief description of positions you may be considered for: DOCK TEAM MEMBER: * Assisting loading and unloading trailers and pallets full of Gospel Opportunity. * Shoeboxes and coordinating movement of unprocessed product around the Processing Center. * Assist with stocking and/or palletizing cartons of Gospel Opportunity Shoeboxes and maintaining a proper flow. * Stack completed cartons of shoebox gifts neatly with age/gender markings and barcode label facing out onto pallets. * If using a pallet jack, move full pallets of processed shoeboxes to assigned Inventory Area for the Inventory Worker to scan into inventory. * If needed, stretch-wrap appropriate pallets of processed shoeboxes as directed by the OCC Processing Center Floor Manager. INVENTORY TEAM MEMBER: * Assisting in processing inventory in accordance with the OCC Processing Center policies and procedures. QUALITY CONTROL TEAM MEMBER: * Assist with the quality control of the shoebox processing by the volunteer and test for validation purposes. BARCODE SCANNER TEAM MEMBER: * Assist with barcode labels and/or the Follow Your Box Label Printing Application. * Utilizing the OCC Follow Your Box Dashboard available on provided equipment, monitor needs from volunteers who are using Follow Your Box scanners at shoebox processing teams throughout the shift if needed. * Assist Volunteers who are serving as shoebox scanners if a Shoebox Processing Team is processing a large amount of Follow Your Box shoebox gifts.
