The Role
Under general direction, The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing routine administrative, clerical and clinical tasks to help ensure the clinics run smoothly. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
Performs registration and processing of all patients
Responsible for taking and recording patient's vital signs during the triage function.
Performs blood draws and other laboratory specimen collection as ordered by the medical provider.
Performs EKG.
Schedules patients for annual physicals, semi annuals and lab recall.
Sets appointments for referrals and follow-up calls when necessary.
Directs all incoming telephone calls to appropriate parties and take messages when necessary.
Escorts patients into medical provider's examination rooms and monitor the flow of patients.
Ensures the collection of urine specimens for annual physicals.
Qualifications
Who You Will Be
BLS Certification required
High School or GED.
Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant Program.
At least One (1) year of prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinic.
Proficiency in Phlebotomy and EKG.
Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
Ability to multi-task with excellent organization and communication skills.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Team player and ability to work independently.

Warren Center is an eighty-bed skilled nursing facility located at 42 Gurney Lane. Our facility provides a wide spectrum of nursing care to the residents of Warren County. As an IRL Technologist at the Red Cross you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests and interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility. You will resolve compatibility problems; provide intermediate reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.

Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.
Managing receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of patient and donor blood samples and documenting supply and equipment problems.
Managing reagent inventory (ordering, receiving, inspection and preparation).
Recognizing/resolving testing irregularities and assisting other Medical Technologists in problem resolution.
Consulting with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve complex serologic problems and providing special units to transfusion recipients.
Performing manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
Standard Schedule
:
3:30p - 12:00a with shift differentials.
There will be on-call duties every 6 weeks and rotated with current staff.

The salary range for this position is:
$26.53-$41.59/hr

Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time. Required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, etc. Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment.

Accurate initial review of all client assessment forms for completeness
Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs
Ability to take and mount diagnostic digital radiographs
Provide chair side information of dental education and post-operative instructions

Provide chair side support for clinical providers (four-handed dentistry)
Ability to take accurate impressions with various materials and pour up study casts
Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment using proper infection control guidelines
