    Genesis Behavioral Services, sister company of Horizon Healthcare, is currently recruiting for a full-time Substance Use Disoder (SUD) Counselor to work at Chippewa Valley Correctional Monday- Friday- 6 hours a day (30 hours per week) SUD Counselors are responsible for providing individual and group counseling, case management, and maintaining oversight of particpants in our designated AODA Residential Treatment program locations that work in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and the Department of Corrections. Responsibilities: Provide assessment and client screening within established time-lines. Discuss and complete case management assessment incorporating information previously gathered through the client's DPP agent, referral packet, client application, and collateral resources. Monitor and coordinate performance of each of the client's identified needs through an individualized treatment plan. Assist the client in achieving objectives and maximizing independence and productivity through support and training in uses of personal community resources. Reinforce and serve as a role model/teacher/liaison for implementing concepts and objectives identified by the team. Educate and implement with client any or all basic living skills in order to maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Maintain a continuous relationship with the client, assisting wherever and whenever required in the alleviation of crisis provoking situations, and assuring the provision of assessment, planning, linking, monitoring, advocacy and re-assessment in response to the client's changing needs. Reinforce and encourage client's progress and utilization of the community resources and support systems. Assist in monitoring and supervision of clients in the facility. Provide assessment and treatment information to treatment team on an ongoing basis. Contribute to the development and revision of each clients treatment plan according to established guidelines. Participate in treatment plan review staffings for all clients. Document clearly and concisely all assessments, treatment provided, and major communication regarding clients, in appropriate format. Maintain current and complete client records. Work closely with Department of Corrections agents to ensure quality case planning. Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
