    Senior Clinical Therapist LPCC, LMFT or LCSW Blythe Behavioral Health Clinic, Blythe, CA The Blythe Behavioral Health Clinic provides Behavioral Health treatment services to children, teen, adults and older adults in the community. This position will provide supervision to Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registered associates and student interns, carry a small caseload, and act as a lead when the supervisor is unavailable. The position will also provide individual/family therapy services, group therapy, crisis management and linking to resources. Some driving may be required to attend trainings therefore a California Drivers License is required. Under direction, performs the full range of therapeutic assignments related to the field of mental or behavioral health services and psychiatric social work, which includes the design and implementation of personalized treatment plans, individual and group psychotherapy, evaluations and investigations, and professional counseling, as applicable by professional licensing law, in order to meet the needs of consumers or families with mental or emotional disorders; and performs other related duties as required. The Senior Clinical Therapist is the lead/advanced journey level of the Clinical Therapist series. The Senior Clinical Therapist class has responsibility for providing clinical supervision, according to licensure and training, over unlicensed clinical staff. This classification is also responsible for performing, within the scope of licensure, the full range of psychotherapy and counseling services for individual consumers, couples, families, and groups exhibiting a variety of mental health and related disorders in a clinic or institutional setting. Assignments range from moderately difficult to the most complex and include serving in a lead capacity over and providing consultative support to other mental health treatment staff. This classification is distinguished from the class of Mental Health Services Supervisor in that the latter class is the first line supervisor responsible for the planning or implementation of specialized mental health services. The Senior Clinical Therapist is further distinguished from the Clinical Therapist II in that the former is the lead level and may provide extensive clinical supervision, according to licensure and training, over unlicensed clinical staff. Meet the Team * Provide extensive clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians, within the scope of licensure. * Monitor fidelity and provide clinical supervision and coaching for evidence based treatment models. * Develop mental health related training curriculum and conduct training for clinical therapists and other departmental staff. * Conduct clinical and quality improvement chart audits. * Coordinate clinical decisions in response to operational demands. * Conduct clinical discussions regarding complex or difficult cases. * Act as a casework consultant to other clinical therapists and other departmental staff. * Provide guidance to volunteers and staff. * Serve as liaison with other sections, units, services, and agencies. * Participate in mental health conferences and local area committees. * Interview consumers, relatives, and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing mental or emotional disorders. * Develop service plans with consumers; evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, health, socialization, and housing needs. * Coordinate with other staff members (psychiatrists, psychologists, and other program staff) and community agencies in carrying out and designing treatment or rehabilitation plans. * Assist consumers and other concerned individuals in understanding the nature of major psychological illnesses and their psychosocial effects. * Assist consumers and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment. * Initiate and conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions. * Perform specialized tasks including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments. * Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations. * Prepare reports and write correspondence. * Respond to emergencies, within licensure, which may occur on the unit. * Coordinate the flow of information and clinical data to ensure continuity in treatment or shift. Experience: Two years of post-license professional experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting providing direct client services which must have included: client assessment and evaluation, development and implementation of appropriate treatment plans, providing psychotherapy or mental health counseling, and providing indirect services involving information, consultation, and educational services to staff and community. AND License: Possession of a valid license to practice as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Knowledge of: Psychological aspects of physical and emotional disturbances and mental deficiencies; characteristics of emotional and mental disorders including their effect on the individual in the community; mental health local community resources and community support systems; principles of clinical interviewing and methods of recording consumer information; individual licensing law and the scope of professional practice governed by the same; laws, rules, and regulations of publicly operated health and welfare programs; principles and techniques for making psychosocial assessments. The shift for this position is a rotating day shift 12-hour shift 7:00AM to 7:30PM to include weekdays and weekends. Incumbent are also required to complete a level one Sheriff background clearance. The first month is training day shift Monday - Friday About Detention Behavioral Health Services A mental health response team is available to address life threatening situations such as suicidal ideation or attempts in the jails. All referred individuals receive a mental health evaluation to determine the presence of a psychiatric problem and identify the services needed. In addition to the base pay, Clinical Therapists assigned to DETENTION positions receive an hourly differential of 20%. The Bureau currently has vacancies in the Early Childhood Service, Services to Educational, FAST and TAY programs. Early Childhood Services Program The Early Childhood Services Program provides an array of services to children that have been prenatally exposed to alcohol and other substances or are at high risk for developmental problems due to trauma. Services include, developmental screenings and assessments, mental health consultation, attachment and dynamic therapy, and case management. The Clinical Psychologist utilizes a wide range of neuro-cognitive and psychological tests within the evaluation process. Detailed psychological reports that include clinical impressions and treatment recommendations are provided to the families and clinical care team to assist with diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. Services to Education Program The Services to Education Program provides mental health services within public schools located in Monterey County. Services are provided to children and youth that present with mental health needs in General Education as well as those who have Individualized Education Plans (IEP) with an identified impairment in social emotional functioning. Behavioral Health staff work collaboratively with the Education staff in an Interconnected Systems Framework and are active members of the multi-disciplinary teams within the PBIS model and approach implemented in the schools. Mental health services are delivered using both group and individual modalities, and parents are included in the treatment approach as clinically indicated. The Education program is currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to assist Behavioral Health staff with diagnostic clarification, treatment planning, crisis evaluations, consultation, inter-agency coordination, and clinical support. Additionally, the psychologist may provide group treatment within the schools, provide training to the education staff, and support the Unit Supervisors in various clinical capacities. Strong psychological assessment skills are a must for this position; A wide range of psychological tests are utilized within the evaluation process. A solid understanding of FERPA and HIPAA is required. FAST Program The F.A.S.T. (Family Assessment Support and Treatment) Team provides comprehensive family mental health assessments and treatment to children and families involved in dependency proceedings where the court has deemed it necessary to remove the child(ren) from the home due to abuse and/or neglect issues. The team typically uses attachment theory and systems perspectives in helping understand and conceptualize the family's challenges, strengths, and services needed as well as address any trauma that has impacted the children and family. A wide range of psychological tests are also utilized within the evaluation process. Detailed psychological reports that include clinical impressions and treatment recommendations are provided to the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Juvenile Dependency Court. This process is rapid and requires solid clinical assessment and treatment skills, good writing skills, quality time management skills, the ability to multitask, and excellent collaboration skills. TAY Program The Transition Age Youth (TAY) Avanza Program is a voluntary, youth guided full-service partnership program. Youth aged 16-25 are provided mental health services, psychotropic medication support, case management, and family support. The clinical presentations of youth served include severe mood disorders, severe trauma and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, first episode psychosis, and chronic and severe mental illness. The Clinical Psychologist provides individual, family, and group therapy, along with intensive case management. The clinical psychologist will also conduct intake assessments and full psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. Adult System of Care Placement Team & Adult Forensic Services Programs The Monterey County Adult System of Care (ASOC) and the Adult Forensic Services programs provide Specialty Mental Health Services to adults with severe mental illness who may also have a co-occurring substance use disorder, significant trauma history and/or physical health condition. ASOC is also responsible for the coordination of care and works closely with the Public Guardians Office regarding placement of LPS conserved individuals. This licensed clinical psychologist will conduct evaluations and risk assessments of adults in the collaborative court programs, misdemeanor incompetent to stand trial (PC1370.01), mental health diversion (PC1001.36), and medically necessary assessments to diagnosis and develop recommended treatment plans for this population to also include referrals from parole and the county jail. This psychologist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with the ASOC Placement Team and the Forensic Services Programs and may provide consultation support to other teams as needed in clarifying complex diagnostic presentations as well as be required to appear in criminal and civil court. Candidates hired into regular full-time positions for this classification at the Health Department may be eligible for a signing bonus up to $10,000. Physical Therapist I/II: Under general direction, this position is to provide assessment, case management and physical therapy services to physically disabled children, and to do related work as required. Positions are assigned to the California Children Services Program's Medical Therapy Unity under the Children's Health Services Branch of the Public Health Department. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Physical Therapist I: The Physical Therapist I classification represents entry-level positions in the Physical Therapist I/II class series.
