BASIC FUNCTION:
The Painter II will Perform journey-level skilled painting work on school buildings, furniture, equipment, and other district facilities; provide lead and direction on assigned projects.

VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS:
Working Location: Physical Plant Operations 4860 Ruffner Street, San Diego, CA 92111 and Various Sites.
The District covers a large portion of San Diego County. Refer to the District Area Map at this Link and make sure to identify any and all specific area(s) you are interested in working in. Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week.

Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of a recognized painting apprentice training program and two years of recent, full-time, paid diversified journey-level painting experience.
NOTE: Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Possession of hand tools common to the trade. NOTE: All applicants must acquire and maintain a Lead Related Construction certificate within their first year of employment in this classification and maintain the certificate during their employment as a painter per California State law.Applicants must successfully pass and complete a medical respiratory physical examination including a blood level test (BLL) annually.

POSITION SPECIFICS:
The World Language Certificated Pool is for assignments for the 2025/2026 school year.
The San Diego Unified School District accepts applications for World Language Teachers on a continuous basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. Candidates who wish to teach French, Japanese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Spanish, American Sign Language or any other world language should apply to this pool. San Diego Unified is looking for world language teachers for elementary immersion, secondary immersion and secondary world language settings.
This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list. Candidates that do not wish to be considered for regular full-time/part-time positions should apply to the substitute teacher pool to be considered for temporary assignments.
Credential areas considered for this pool are:
A valid teaching credential in a specific world language, or
A valid teaching credential with a bilingual authorization in a specific language.
