Full-time Description Solano School-based Mental Health Clinician Accountability: Reports to Mental Health Program Supervisor/Director Hybrid Status: EE-2 Job Status: Regular, Full Time, Exempt Date Revised: January 2026 School-based Mental Health Clinician (SMHP) Solano Mental Health Program Role: Under the supervision of the Solano Mental Health Program Director, the School Based Mental Health Clinician has the primary responsibility for the providing direct mental health services to children and youth at assigned school site. Services include individual, group, and family therapy (as needed) to elementary and middle school level children; collaborate with educational staff; perform intake, evaluations, which include forming diagnostic formulations; provide case management, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for children and youth as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides culturally/linguistically sensitive individual, group, family and collateral outpatient psychotherapy to EPSDT/Medi-Cal eligible clients referred for treatment Provides individual, group, and/or collateral Mental Health Rehabilitation Services as needed. JOB SUMMARY The Substance Abuse Counselor provides drug and alcohol counseling to adult clients authorized to receive substance abuse treatment under a non-residential substance abuse or mental health program. Counselors interact with clients on a day-to-day basis providing individual and group counseling, as well as engaging in rehabilitation activities. The Substance Abuse Counselor provides clients with orientation, training, substance abuse recovery skills and information, and leadership necessary to provide clients with the ability to recover from substance abuse addiction. Prepares treatment and discharge plans and discharge summaries. Designate new target goals for clients consistent with overall treatment goals. Initiate appropriate and timely interventions. Provide input to develop and improve program servicing and delivery. Assist other staff in dealing with problematic client behavior. Schedule daily activity and recreational activities and short-term special groups. Act as co-leader in assigned groups. Other relevant duties as assigned. JOB SUMMARY The Night Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, residential recovery environment and providing support services to clients and supporting program staff. JOB SUMMARY Recommend and assist access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and more to support program goals. Initiate referrals to next level care, coordinate with physical health providers for whole-person care, and advocate in the best interest of clients. RESPONSIBILITIES (AOD Residential Assistant - 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Provide case management with crisis intervention, discharge plan, group & individual work, mental health/substance use disorder counseling, screening, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management. Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services if contractually required. Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed. Shift coverage including part of the on-call team. Provide field-based services as required by program and client need. Maintain confidentiality of client's care. Participate in scheduled program meetings. Offer medications as scheduled or as needed, complete accurate medication compliance and accurate medication data entry. Conduct observed, baseline and random drug testing. Monitor and observe health and safety of residential and withdrawal management participants. Conduct walkthroughs and property searches. Other relevant duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • High School diploma required. • Registered or certified from recognized AOD certifying (CCAPP, CADTP, CAADE) board is required. • Valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required. • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred. • Cultural competency understanding required. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred. • CPR/First Aid certification (required within 30 days of hire), and bi-annual thereafter. • Bilingual preferred.
