Police Officer Lateral/Academy Graduates for the San José State University Police Department are fully sworn State of California Peace Officers per 830.2(c) PC and are part of the California State University Police system. Key Responsibilities

At Cal Poly Humboldt, our journalism and public relations students train to be gatherers of reliable content and trustworthy storytellers. Our students dig into media-making in their first semester building blogs, taking photos, conducting interviews and producing videos and podcasts. Here are some of the opportunities students have with us:

Minimum Qualifications
Degree: Earned B.A./B.S. in appropriate field.
Experience: Three (3) years of professional journalism experience. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in technology and software current in the industry necessary to achieve the course learning outcomes.
Preferred: Earned M.A./M.S. in Journalism or Mass Communication with at least three (3) years professional experience relevant to the course, and demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications
Degree: Earned M.A./M.S. in Journalism or Mass Communication or related field.
Experience: Successful teaching experience and at least three (3) years professional work related to the appropriate field and relevant to the course.
Preferred: Earned Ph.D. in Mass Communication or related field, or J.D. with demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness and at least three (3) years professional experience relevant to the course. Bilingual applicants able to speak English and Spanish will be given special consideration.

Appointees are typically placed at the beginning of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.

Essential Functions: Art models pose for Art Figure Drawing classes as requested by the Art instructor. Most modeling is in the nude and involves a variety of poses sustained over varying periods of time.
Required Qualifications & Experience: All genders of models for quick-sketch drawing classes. Models are expected to pose nude and should be able to hold standing, seated, and reclining poses for 1-20 minutes. Modeling sessions are 3 hours long with short breaks throughout the class. Must be patient and professional and use discretion. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Under supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor, the Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety of patrons using the aquatic facilities, as well as enforcing rules and regulations regarding pool use. Key Responsibilities
Provide lead work direction to skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled staff in plumbing and water distribution operations; assign, monitor, and inspect work for compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements
Perform the full range of skilled plumbing work, including installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of mechanical plumbing systems for water, gas, oil, steam, condensate, sewage, fire prevention, and refrigeration
Lead and perform maintenance, testing, and repair of potable and recycled water systems; monitor, test, and chemically treat water to maintain compliance with health and safety standards
Conduct backflow device testing, recordkeeping, and maintenance; perform recycled and potable water cross-connection testing and corrective actions per regulatory standards
Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot plumbing systems, and complete repairs to ensure reliability and water quality
Estimate cost, labor, and materials; coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure efficient and compliant project execution
Follow established safety procedures, maintain required certifications, and ensure adherence to Cal/OSHA, state plumbing codes, and university safety policies
Maintain detailed maintenance and testing records, document as-built changes, and prepare standard reports using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Communicate effectively with campus constituents to address plumbing service needs and ensure timely resolution of issues

Required Qualifications
These abilities normally would be acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard plumber's apprenticeship program
One to two years of experience as a journey-level plumber that included work coordination responsibilities
Possession of a valid California Driver's License and driving record that allows for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required for the position
License
A valid driver's license is required for this position. Out of state candidates selected for the position must obtain a State of California driver's license within 10 days of hire in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles regulations.
Once hired the employee must successfully complete the Defensive Driver Training Program provided by the State of California for California State University campuses.

Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Assessment will work with various areas of the department to provide assessment of activities, programs and services. In conjunction with direction from department and area leadership, conduct assessments (qualitative and quantitative) of Student Union Inc. programs, operations and services.
Create a regular calendar of assessments for the department; work with department leaders on timing, methodology, and incentives for assessment.
Compile and analyze data against benchmarks, trends, historical data.
Create analysis and results in user-friendly formats for utilization and decision-making.
Work with Student Affairs in aligning Student Union, Inc. assessments with division goals and directives.
Participate in department staff meetings, organization-wide trainings and development activities.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
