Position Description
The Marketing and Business Analytics Department at San José State University's Lucas College and Graduate School of Business is pleased to announce a search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Marketing or Business Analytics with an emphasis on quantitative marketing, marketing strategy, sales, sports marketing, sustainable marketing, artificial intelligence, or marketing automation. Applicants should be interested in teaching related courses to undergraduate students and MBA/Executive Level audiences, and ideally should have research that is related to these areas.

Required Qualifications
A doctorate from an accredited university and scholarly active (SA) status under AACSB standards. A doctoral degree must be fully awarded by the date of appointment in order to start but preferably by May 31, 2026.
Evidence of teaching excellence or potential for teaching effectiveness.
Demonstrated record of or potential for scholarly publications and for developing a strong scholarly record commensurate with rank and suitable for advancement.
Interest in engaging with Silicon Valley professionals and connecting our students - largely first generation, economically diverse, and multicultural - to the business community.
Evidence of awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Priority will be given to candidates whose research focus is in quantitative marketing, marketing strategy, sales, sports marketing, sustainable marketing, artificial intelligence, or marketing automation.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching Marketing and/or Business Analytics courses depending on department needs, including in quantitative marketing, marketing strategy, sales, sports marketing, sustainable marketing, artificial intelligence, or marketing automation. Teaching assignments are at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in traditional and accelerated formats.
Engaging in scholarly activities as evidenced by developing and maintaining an active research agenda in peer reviewed high-quality journals and by presenting at academic and professional conferences.
The candidate will participate in shared governance, usually in department, college, and university committees and other service assignments.
Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Brief Description of Duties
We invite applications for a pool of part-time lecturers, should an opening arise, to teach undergraduate courses in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the Department. The pool will remain in place for two calendar years; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply.
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can use a variety of high impact pedagogical approaches and who have very strong mathematical backgrounds and abilities. Excellence in teaching is expected as well as good oral and written communication skills. Positions start at the beginning of a semester and appointments may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a juris doctorate degree (or higher) in law from an accredited United States institution and must be qualified as a scholarly academic under AACSB standards. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, and ability to teach, a variety of business law courses. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Accounting and Business Law Area of Cal Poly's Orfalea College of Business (OCOB) prepares career-ready future business leaders in a learn-by-doing environment. The accounting concentration is open to business administration and economics majors. The law faculty teach a variety of courses at OCOB, including two courses required to earn the business administration degree (Legal Responsibilities of Business and Governmental and Social Influences on Business). The law faculty also teach in the Master of Business Administration program.

Required Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Communication Studies, Digital/Media Studies, Critical Pedagogy, or a closely related field (completed by time of appointment)
* Evidence of a well-defined and active research agenda demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and presentations

Key Responsibilities
* Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in communication studies, including core and elective offerings.

* Advise and mentor students, including supervising graduate theses or projects.
* The candidate will participate in shared governance, usually in department, college, and university committees and other service assignments.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Agricultural Education and Communication Department at Cal Poly has approximately 260 undergraduate students, 155 Master's Degree candidates, and eight full-time faculty who teach in the areas of teacher education and agricultural communications. Cal Poly produces nearly half of all of the newly credentialed Agriculture teachers for the state of California each year. Graduates of the department have proven to be effective leaders in secondary, post-secondary, and higher education, not only in California, but throughout the United States. Cal Poly is viewed as the "home" for agricultural education in California. The State FFA Judging Finals and the Summer Conference for the California Agricultural teachers' Association have been held on the Cal Poly campus for over ninety years. The Brock Center for Agricultural Communication is housed within the Agricultural Education and Communication Department, and serves as the laboratory for students to develop their writing, social media, and verbal communication skills. The Brock Center produces a quarterly magazine, the Ag Circle, for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Science. Ag Communication students are active nationally by attending the Ag Media Summit each year, and have earned numerous awards in national competition, including the "Outstanding Publication" for the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow organization.

The Department:
Communication Sciences and Disorders (CMSD) is a program in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences. The CMSD Program offers a BS and MS degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Masters degree recipients are also eligible for a Speech-Language Services credential.
CMSD courses address the scientific framework for understanding human communication, focusing on anatomical, physiological, neurological, acoustic, psychological and cultural bases of speech, language, and hearing processes and disorders. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based assessment and treatment.
Coursework is supplemented by observation of expert clinical sessions that gives students experiences with disorders in the areas of language, voice and resonance, phonology, articulation, fluency, swallowing, hearing, cognitive and social aspects of communication, and problems that necessitate the use of oral, manual, augmentative and alternative communication techniques and technologies.

Department of Mathematics Part-Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Mathematics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.
We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered to teach in the following subject areas:
Math 110 - Mathematics for Liberal Arts Students
Math 115 - College Algebra
Math 120 - Elementary Statistics
Math 125 - Precalculus
Math 130 - Calculus for the Natural Sciences
Math 135 - Business Calculus
Math 150A - Calculus I
Math 150B - Calculus II
Math 170A - Mathematical Structures I
Math 170B - Mathematical Structures II
Math 250A - Calculus III
Math 250B - Introduction to Linear Algebra and Differential Equations
Math 338 - Statistics Applied to Natural Sciences
Part-time appointment, usually to teach credit-bearing mathematics courses at the lower division level. Responsibility for a course will be vested in the lecturer, sometimes under the direct supervision of an appropriate faculty member. Teaching assignments may include multi-section coordinated courses, in which instructors must abide by all coordinated course policies, including the conditions contained in the general syllabi.
Duties will include the following:
Providing classroom instruction.
Preparing course materials and administering assignments to students.
Administering examinations, grading student work and otherwise assessing student performance, and determining course grades.
Holding scheduled office hours.
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in Mathematics or related field.
Applicants for Math Education courses (MAED) will be considered with a Bachelor's degree and a Secondary Teaching Credential in Mathematics and significant high school teaching experience.
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students
The successful application will show strong evidence of:
Mathematics content knowledge
Spoken English communication skills
Written English communication skills
Professional presentation and demeanor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have prior teaching experience at the university level.
Preference will be given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
Preference will also be given to those with relevant performance and professional experience.

APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,008.40 to $7,465.20 per semester or $1,001.40 to $1,244.20 per month.

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
