Duties and Responsibilities

Education Substitution for the GL-7 grade level: A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (i.e., GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0), or (3) honor society membership. Or will receive a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. Or one full year of graduate-level education in a field of study related to law enforcement (e.g., criminal justice, homeland security, justice studies, law enforcement, courts and judicial systems, forensic technology, forensic psychology, or corrections and rehabilitation) from an accredited college or university; OR

Other Requirements

* Manages administrative activities including procurement, inventory, records management, personnel issues, payroll reporting, and work activity reports.
* Supports the relationship between the City of Yuma and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City goals and priorities, vision, values and the "Yuma Way", and complies with all City policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND five years of Wastewater operations experience, preferably with City of Yuma; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Associate's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required. Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's Grade 3 certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) is required. Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Grade 4 certification is required within 6 months of appointment. ADEQ certifications in both W/WW functions are preferred; additional technical training and certifications may be required. Equivalent Certifications from other jurisdictions may be considered at application. ADEQ reciprocity certification is required within 60 days of hire.
