PURPOSE:
Seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on and proactive Building Maintenance / Facility Maintenance Technician to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our industrial facilities. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge in electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general building systems. This candidate must also have experience coordinating with contractors, managing maintenance schedules, and contributing to site safety initiatives.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Coordinate and oversee work performed by external contractors and vendors; ensure quality and timeliness of work.
Negotiate service contracts and manage vendor relationships.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Self-perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
Support and enforce site safety protocols; participate in safety audits and emergency response planning.
Assist in planning and executing facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in facility or building maintenance, preferable in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
OSHA certification or other safety training is preferred.
Experience with energy management systems is preferred.
Familiarity with industrial equipment and machinery maintenance is preferred.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in various environmental conditions.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
