Under the direction of the Clinical Support Services department leadership, our Sterilization Technicians support clinical operations for the entire School of Dental Medicine (SDM). These positions are integral to dental education clinical operations, focusing on sterilization and sterile processing with the opportunity for training and career growth in a healthcare industry. Prepare specialized instrument set-ups for undergraduate students, residents, and faculty to be used during dental patient treatment. Operates all equipment in sterile processing including, but not limited to, steam sterilizers, biological incubators, heat sealers, instruments, and cart washer. Collect and disperse reusable patient care instruments to clinic dispensary units. Conduct post-sterilization inspections/audits. As a mentor to new technicians, this role will need to identify the preferred learning styles of individual trainees or Dental Care I s and adjust their mentorship approach to align with that.
