The Church
First Baptist Church of Parishville is located in northern NY state about 30 miles from the Saint Lawrence River. The church was established in 1820. We are an independent, fundamental, missions-minded church. We are a congregational form of government with the deacons given authority to take care of the daily responsibilities, however all major decisions are given to the membership for approval. We use the King James Bible for preaching and teaching in the church to eliminate any and all confusion, however we do not dictate to individual members or congregants what bible version to use in their homes. We use a hymnal in our worship service although augmented with some choruses and acoustic type God honoring music. The bible is our guide for faith and practice, however we have a covenant and constitution as well which we will include for you. The bible will always take precedence over the constitution.
The Community
Parishville is a very rural town with population of just over 2,000. There is one gas and convenience store and no stoplights. Groceries and Walmart are ten miles away. There are four universities within 15-20 miles of the church. We have a baptistry but most prefer to use the St. Regis river out the back door of the church. It is a picturesque and sparsely populated area.
We are looking for a candidate that is comfortable in a country type environment, has a servant's heart, willing and able to lead the flock, lead by example the outreach and evangelism of our community.
