Purpose of Position:
Maintains University Grounds and Landscaping
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Must possess a general knowledge of flowers, shrubs, and trees commonly grown in.
● California and possess the knowledge and ability to maintain plant material and turf in a neat and orderly condition.
● Recognizes plant diseases, pests, and general conditions of plant life and performs methods to correct such conditions including the application of fertilizers and pesticides.
● Safely operates, cleans, and cares for hand and power tools, such as edger, blower, mower, chain saw, aerator, chipper, man lift, rot-o-tiller, vacuum, fork lift, hedge trimmer, and string edger.
● Possess a good understanding of the personal safety equipment required for each piece of equipment.
● Operates manual irrigation systems and performs minor irrigation repairs (including nozzle and head replacements).
● Landscaped areas, sidewalks, and parking lots are to be kept clean of debris and litter.
● Landscaped areas are to be kept free of weeds by means of herbicides and/or hand cultivation.
● Replaces damaged turf and plants.
● Transplants flowers, shrubs and trees.
● Installs soil amendments and header boards for new plantings.
● Makes recommendations for plant selections, maintenance methods and designs.
● Performs manual labor as required for various irrigation and landscape projects.
● Performs furniture moves and furniture deliveries, set-ups, and pick-ups for both indoor and outdoor events.
Qualifications:
● Four (4) years of experience in landscape, maintenance, and demonstrated skill in tasks described above are required.
● Must possess a valid California driver's license.
● Be able to pass a physical examination for pesticide respirator use.
● Preference will be given to applicants who have completed recognized courses in landscape
maintenance.
● Works under general supervision, and also, independently, as well as with the entire crew.
● Ability to follow job-related oral and written instructions in English and keep written records and perform simple computer data input.
● Ability to perform basic mathematics.
● Knowledge of relevant safety regulations is required.
● Ability to lift and move moderately heavy objects, up to 65 lbs. safely.

Responsibilities
Provide theatrical production support Follow directions and protocols set out by Department Heads and Production Management; following and helping maintain SOP and Safe Work programs. Lead and assist in the lighting hang and focus, audio/visual system setup, scenic element rigging, and load-in/load-out of productions. Program sound equipment, lighting equipment, and other technical systems in advance of performances and productions. Troubleshoot and resolve routine to somewhat complex problems with production equipment. Reporting to the SFTV Head of Production, the Manager, Post Production oversees all staff, operations, and planning in Post Production, including Video and Sound Editing, Sound Recording, Animation, and the school's theaters and screening rooms.
The Production Administration Team (PAT) at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) - School of Film and Television (SFTV), a top-ranked film school, serves students in Film Production, Screenwriting, Recording Arts, Animation, and Film Studies. The students in Film Production produce approximately 800 films per year. Each project is overseen by a staff member in PAT. Projects are monitored for adherence to rules, policies, and procedures codified in the SFTV Handbook, and most importantly, for the highest level of workplace safety.
PAT provides services and maintains available facilities and equipment in 5 buildings across two campuses, including sound stages, scene and prop shop, professional cinema-quality camera packages, grip/electric equipment, and production sound equipment for both project and classroom use.
The Post Production department oversees the facilities for video and sound editing as well as sound recording, animation, and the theaters. These facilities include editing suites, sound mixing stages, foley rooms, color correction rooms, a recording studio, computer labs, and three theaters, as well as drawing, motion capture, and stop animation rooms. These communities include Alpha, Cura, Cyphi, da Vinci, Loyola, Modern Perspectives, and Unity/Nobili Residence Hall. Each RLC is associated with a specific residence hall and organizes its community around one or two broad themes.
The Leadership Team in our one junior and senior community in University Villas, includes a Resident Director, Spirituality Facilitator and Assistant Resident Director. This community does not have an RLC component and focus their engagement and programming efforts on the upper-division student experience.
Due to the live-in nature and high visibility of the position, it is essential that Resident Directors model the values of a Jesuit, Catholic university and demonstrate the Department of Residence Life's commitment to the mission of Santa Clara University.
The Resident Director position is a full-time, 12-month, four-year fixed-term position ending December 31, 2029, and requires flexibility of work hours, including work performed on weekends and evenings.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & LEADERSHIP
* Provide leadership, direction, and support for residential education initiatives, responding to individual resident needs and coordinating co-curricular programming and assessment that promotes the theme of the community.
* Work collaboratively with the community Leadership Team, building staff, and other University departments to provide intentional opportunities for residents to enhance academic excellence, explore the spiritual component of their individual development, support general student wellness, and cultivate a passion for learning both inside and outside of the classroom.

* Supervise a team of community student staff members including 1-3 Assistant Resident Directors, 6-13 Community Facilitators/Neighborhood Representatives, and 5-10 Desk Assistants.
* Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of community student staff members.
* Foster staff unity and teamwork through the development and implementation of ongoing training efforts, weekly staff meetings, and staff events that prioritize opportunities for skill development and reflection for continued personal and professional growth.
* Communicate regularly with community student staff members via weekly staff meetings, one-one meetings, individual consultations, email, and daily personal contact.
* Motivate student staff and empower them to promote student growth and development with their residents.
3. STUDENT SAFETY AND WELFARE
* Serve as the primary university conduct hearing officer for assigned community and assist in other communities when needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initiating disciplinary procedures when appropriate and adjudicating student conduct violations in conjunction with the Office of Student Life.
* Participate in the recruitment, selection, advising, and training of Peer Conduct Boards and/or Graduate Conduct Officers, as assigned.
* Communicate, uphold, administer, and evaluate policies related to student life within the University and the community.
* Oversee safety, duty, and emergency procedures for assigned community, promote and enforce policies that protect and ensure the general welfare of students, and educate staff and residents about University emergency protocols and procedures.

Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Facilities and Capital Planning, you will oversee a staff of athletics groundskeepers and manage day-to-day turf management for all athletic playing fields for Stanford Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation.

+ Oversee day to day sports turf operation, including maintenance planning, scheduling and staffing.

**To be successful in this position, you will bring:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or other appropriate technical area, or combination of education training, and experience. Two or more years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff.
+ Six or more years of sports turf management experience is preferred.
+ Required to have Qualified Applicator Certification; Qualified Applicator License, or an ability to obtain a QAL preferred.

The Therapist in Residence (TIR) program at SCU places professionally trained mental health clinicians into residence halls to address the mental health needs of residents and support Residence Life Staff. This proactive, collaborative effort between Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Office of Residence Life (ORL) seeks to increase the day-to-day service activities, awareness, availability and access to counseling, decrease barriers to accessing mental health support and reduce the stigma associated with mental health services.
The Therapist in Residence administers on-site and easily accessed consultation and mental health support programs and services including brief assessment and discussion of resources, after-hours consultations, and crisis intervention with the goal of referring students to other resources on campus.
The Therapist in Residence works closely with the Cowell Center Outreach Coordinator and Case Manager and is responsible for the implementation of Mental Health First Aid training for the campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brief Counseling, Assessment and Referral
Conduct evaluation and brief individual therapy for students with a goal of referral to on- or off-campus resources.
Conduct group therapy and student support groups in the residence halls related to balance, self-care and maintaining appropriate boundaries and relationships.
Host ‘drop-in' hours for residents and/or appointments with self-referred or staff-referred students.
Provide a support group in CAPS for Residence Life student staff that focuses specifically on managing the challenges of the student staff position.
Consultation, Referral and Mental Health Support
Normalize the use of mental health resources through increased visibility and engagement with campus residents.
Increase visibility and access to mental health support and resources. Consult regularly with residents during designated office hours.
Provide direct access and consultation to the Residence Life staff related to student concerns.
Provide consultation to faculty, staff, and students' families regarding student concerns.
Refer students to CAPS for additional services for those situations that require ongoing therapy.
Work with the Cowell Center's Case Manager to appropriately refer clients to on-campus and off-campus community providers.
Preventative and Educational Programming
Partner with CAPS' staff to attend and assist with planning and presenting Residential Life staff training and meetings.
Create opportunities for students to become more familiar/comfortable with mental health services and resources.
Work with CAPS, the Outreach Coordinator of CAPS, and other university departments to provide educational programs and awareness on wellness and mental health issues; for example, CAPS' “Being a Bronco” Series, (Take Back the Night, Eating Disorders and Body Image Awareness, Depression Screening Day).
Serve as a resource to students and staff to support programmatic needs within the residence halls.

After Hours Consultations and Crisis Response
Under the leadership and guidance of the Director of Health and Counseling provide crisis management, assessment, intervention services and stabilizing clients.
Work closely with the Director of Health and Counseling and Campus Safety Services to help transport students in crisis to the hospital.
Share in CAPS' regular rotation of on-call after-hours consultation to University staff, including the on-duty Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

Administrative and Liaison Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE: The Associate Dean of the College of Arts & Humanities (A&H) provides leadership and support in academic planning, faculty affairs, student success, and resource management. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean works collaboratively with department chairs, faculty, staff, and university leadership to advance the College's mission and strategic goals. The College is comprised of seven departments - Art and Art History; Communications; English; History; Modern Languages &Literatures; Music and Theatre; and Philosophy and Religious Studies. The incumbent plays a critical role in supporting accreditation and assessment processes, guiding curriculum development, and faculty development, and fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic Leadership & Strategic Planning
Assist the Dean in the development and implementation of the College's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with university-wide goals.
Coordinate and oversee scheduling in collaboration with department chairs, administrative staff, and advisors.
As ex-officio member of the A&H curriculum committee, support curriculum development by reviewing proposals for new courses and programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and academic policies.
Lead initiatives to expand interdisciplinary collaborations between departments within the College and across other academic units.
Provide guidance on the implementation of emerging academic technologies to enhance teaching and research.
Assist the Dean in budget planning and resource allocation, ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources.
Oversee faculty and staff workload assignments, ensuring efficient distribution of responsibilities and adherence to university policies and collective bargaining agreements, while maintaining a high standard of academic excellence.
Ensure compliance with university policies, CSU regulations, and accreditation standards related to financial management.
Based on data-informed need, advocate for increased resources to enhance instructional facilities, technology infrastructure, and research initiatives.
Coordinate space and facilities management within the College and between the College and Academic Operations, ensuring that classrooms, laboratories, and performance spaces meet academic needs.
Faculty Affairs & Development
In coordination with the Dean, provide oversight and mentorship in faculty recruitment efforts, ensuring diversity and excellence in hiring practices.
Serve as an advisor and consultant for programs developing RTP criteria and standards, ensuring transparency and adherence to university guidelines.
Organize professional development workshops, research grant-writing training, and instructional enhancement opportunities.
Assist faculty in resolving workplace conflicts and fostering a collegial and supportive work environment.
Support faculty in securing external funding and fellowships to enhance research, scholarship, and creative activity.
Develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusive excellence and equitable opportunities for faculty advancement.
Student Success & Engagement
Assist the Dean in developing and overseeing initiatives that promote student recruitment retention, engagement, and timely graduation.
Collaborate with academic advisors, coordinators, and department chairs to create structured pathways for degree completion and academic support.
Partner with Student Affairs Strategic and Enrollment Management (SASEM) and serve on advising-related committees.
Facilitate clear and consistent communication with academic departments.
Serve as the liaison between the college and the Tutoring Services Coordinator.
Oversee the resolution of student appeals, grievances, and academic integrity cases, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
In collaboration with constituencies, support the development of experiential learning opportunities, including service-learning projects, internships, and study abroad programs.
Lead efforts to improve first-year experience programs and bridge programs that facilitate student transitions.
Collaboration & Community Engagement
Serve as a liaison between the College and university administration, faculty governance bodies, and external stakeholders.
Represent the College and Dean's Office in university-wide committees, CSU system meetings, and professional academic organizations.
Assist the Dean in developing strategic partnerships with local organizations, cultural institutions, and industry leaders to enhance student opportunities and faculty collaborations.
Promote the College's visibility through community outreach, public lectures, and arts and humanities initiatives.
Work with alumni and donors to strengthen ties between the College and external constituencies, fostering a culture of philanthropy.
Assist in developing efforts to expand community-based learning initiatives, enhancing student civic engagement and regional impact.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a field appropriate to one of the departments in the College, and an outstanding record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with appointment as an Associate or Full professor with tenure in a discipline represented by the College. Demonstrated prior leadership experience as an administrator, department chair, academic leader, or equivalent experience (minimum of one year).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA's) -
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Skills in management of fiscal and personnel resources, facilities, research or academic program management and evaluation.
Knowledge of accreditation, preferably with AACSB and/or NASPAA.
