General Function:
Serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of an elementary school or a site of comparable size and complexity. The Senior Service Desk Technician delivers high-level technical support and exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, and students, both onsite and remotely. Position Summary
The expected start date for this position is Fall 2026. Screening of candidates will begin January 2026.
Teaches 30 pay hours per year of assigned classes and performs instructional duties in diverse learning environments. Essential Job Functions:
Performs all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g. locks, worn tumblers, shortens tumblers, springs, changes combinations, exit hardware, etc.) to ensure that items are available and in safe working condition.
Inspects facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and identifying necessary repairs and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance.
Fabricates unique locks and locking devices to meet the district's specialized security needs.
Diagnoses malfunctions of security systems to identify repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain systems.
Performs minor repair or modifications to doors and/or frames to ensure proper closing and security.
Re-keys locks and changes combinations to ensure secure facilities.
Prepares documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats in or to provide written support in compliance with regulations and/or for the purpose of documenting and conveying information.

Student Teaching (Interns)/Observations and Practicums JobID: 14717 Volunteers/University/Community College Additional Information: Show/Hide Student Teaching (Interns)/Observations and Practicums: The Las Cruces Public Schools welcomes and encourages all parents and citizens of Las Cruces to volunteer their time in our schools. In order to protect our students, volunteers must comply with Las Cruces Public Schools' Board of Education policy GBJC. The policy requires volunteers to complete a College Student Volunteer Application and these packets are available at the school, or at the Human Resources Office, or online at ************
The College Student Volunteer Packet consists of the following:
1. COLLEGE STUDENT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION SHEET - Complete, date and sign this sheet.
2. POLICY REVIEW - Read and sign off on LCPS policies: Volunteer Pledge; Drug Free Workplace; Child Abuse and Neglect; Sexual Harassment; Staff conduct with students; Staff personal safety and security; and internet use.
3. CRIMINAL HISTORY AFFIDAVIT - Complete and sign the Criminal History Affidavit.
College Students that need to do classroom observations for education credits, practicums, interns, and enrichment programs, are required to complete the volunteer process.
BACKGROUND CHECK PROCEDURE
STATE AND FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECKS* Volunteers are required to have State & Federal Background Checks* only once unless there is a break in volunteer service of one school year or longer, excluding summers.
An LCPS HR Specialist will contact you to assist with registering and paying for your fingerprints. LCPS will compensate the background check fee of $59.00 fee which is paid to Identogo. After an HR Specialist has assisted you with registering:
1. Please print your registration receipt and take it with you, with a valid photo ID, to the address listed in your email.
2. Your background report will be sent electronically to the Human Resources Office of the Las Cruces Public Schools in 1 to 3 business days.
