After earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981, Steven M. Ziegler established a reputation as one of the most successful attorneys representing managed care organizations. As the owner of the Law Offices of Steven M. Ziegler, he handled complex cases involving member disputes, provider disputes, medical malpractice claims, vendor litigation, ERISA matters, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement disputes. He also worked with regulators around the United States on issues relating to managed care regulatory requirements. In 1996, Steven M. Ziegler was involved in the creation of a national risk management program for managed care organizations interested in reducing their liability exposure.

Currently, Steven M. Ziegler is the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for SantaFe HealthCare, an organization that includes Haven Hospice, SantaFe Senior Living, and AvMed Health Plans. In this position, he works to ensure that SantaFe HealthCare complies with all applicable state and federal regulations and advocates on behalf of the company with various legislators. In addition, he is the Chair of the SantaFe HealthCare Corporate Compliance Committee and Chair of the AvMed Risk and Security Oversight Committee.

In his free time, Steven M. Ziegler is devoted to helping children experience the benefits of participating in organized athletics. An avid soccer fan, Steven M. Ziegler is the founder and commissioner of AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) Region 644 youth soccer club in Weston, Florida. He is also the founder and President of the Weston Sports Alliance and President of Weston FC, a youth soccer club comprised of 1,100 children around the Weston area.
