Assist in grant writing and fundraising activities as it pertains to Guardian Scholars. Provide support to volunteer mentors to ensure their effectiveness with youth and satisfaction with the program. Consistent spiritual and moral character and lifestyle, fulfilling the biblical leadership qualifications of an elder described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. C. Agreement with the Constitution and By-Laws of BVBC. D. Demonstrated desire to, and practice of, seeking the Lord for personal direction and vision for the church. E. Has a consistent, daily devotional habit of bible study and prayer. F. Proficient in biblical preaching and teaching. G. Properly ordained and educated in biblical, theological, and pastoral studies. H. Ministry experience demonstrating growth of spiritual health in the Body of Christ. I. Proficient in communication, organizational leadership, administration, and interpersonal relationships. J. Potential and desire to remain in long-term ministry at BVBC. K. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize events, and work effectively under pressure. L. At least MDIV from an accredited theological institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities: Take primary responsibility for the teaching and sustaining of biblical doctrines of this church and equipping God's people for ministry. A. Pastoral duties 1) Preach and teach the Word of God regularly. In all cases of public worship services of BVBC, the Senior Pastor is the primary preacher. 2) Share in responsibility for the public worship services. 3) Administer the ordinances of Communion and Believer's Baptism. 4) Officiate Biblical marriage ceremonies. 5) Provide general pastoral care and nurture. 6) Be responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating disciples, and ministry Leaders. 7) Guard doctrinal integrity B. Leadership duties 1) Provide overall vision and leadership to BVBC. 2) Collaborate with the Elders to organize and develop the ministry of BVBC. 3) Share in the development and implementation of ministry objectives. 4) Develop leaders. 5) Participate in community group ministry (eg, Family Night, Men's Ministries). C. Management duties 1) Supervise/shepherd office staff. D. Outside church duties 1) Represent the church to the community. 2) Provide ministry to the broader body of Jesus Christ. 3) Interact with other pastors and local leaders. Accountability: A. The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Elder Board. B. The Senior Pastor will develop and maintain private accountability relationship(s). C.
