SAP Basis/NetWeaver Administrator - (22008900) Description The BASIS administrator will be responsible for daily operational support of a newly implemented SAP environment and interfaces. Responsible of the lifecycle management of the systems, planning & executing installations, patches, upgrades. Work closely with systems analysts and other team members to understand business IT requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions that are in compliance with blueprints and business strategies. Work with the development and functional teams to promote changes through the environment.
1. Establishes the infrastructure standards and requirements.
2. Evaluates, directs and supports SAP system enhancements and performs quality assurance functions.
3. Ensures effective security, operation and performance of SAP environments.
4. Maintain/update SAP environment including systems and databases.
5. Administration of SAP integration, interfaces and support tools.
6. Organizes and maintains job-scheduling.
7. Maintains SAP workloads, batch processes and background activities.
8. Performs and controls manual and automatic system checks.
9. Researches and provides directions for applying SAP software corrections and new applications.
10. Develops Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation to perform production support activities.
11. Performs system refreshes for QA, development and training systems.
12. Participates in developing maintenance, testing and contingency plans for software, hardware and assets affecting SAP.
13. Provides proactive support, through effective capacity planning and change management.
14. Provides reactive support for customers of the service and to introduce measures to reduce reactive work. Qualifications 1. 5+ years direct experience administrating SAP applications (i.e. Basis, Portal, BW, NetWeaver).
2. 1+ years experience in SAP NetWeaver.
3. General application system management knowledge and experience on both ABAP and J2EE stack in SAP systems.
4. Strong experience with SAP R/3 in UNIX (preferably AIX) and Oracle environment.
5. Required to have completed one implementation and one support project.
6. Experience in the daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning or a complex SAP environment.
7. Experience with SAP security administration.
8. Technically fluent in Unix and Oracle database administration.
9. Experience in formulating recommendations and options based upon analysis, data and input from users, business unit management and other technical staff.
10. Ability to solve work related issues appropriately and in a timely fashion.
11. Will need to carry pager/mobile phone and work after office hours, if needed.

SUMMARY Maintain and support all existing business system applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Monitor/Work Service Center queue for tickets and incidents · Utilize SAP and Redwood to monitor and support batch jobs in all systems. · Utilize SAP and Charm process transports between all systems, as required. · Follow Sarbanes Oxley compliant daily monitoring processes and provides effective SAP Basis support in a timely manner consistent with internal IT guidelines and Service Level Agreements.. · Monitor and support SAP printer issues, as required.

· Attend meetings, take appropriate actions as required.

· Provide status updates of assigned projects.

Patterson Companies has an excited opportunity for passionate senior SAP Basis Administrator who will be responsible for implementation and operational support of on-prem SAP and Cloud applications with focus on availability, performance, security and software lifecycle management. This role uses subject matter knowledge to assist with the creation and maintenance of standards, guidelines, and procedures. This role will closely work with the SAP Application, Infrastructure and Cloud engineering teams to ensure a highly available and stable SAP application landscape for our business.

* Perform core SAP Basis administrator functions including software installation and setup, enhancement pack and support pack installation and upgrade, performance monitoring, tuning and capacity management utilizing enterprise standards and leveraging best operating practices.

* Participate in deployment design discussions and perform SAP workload migrations from on-prem to Cloud
* Perform Database Administration for HANA and SAPDB
* Collaborate across IT functions including server team, networking and security teams to assist in driving out solutions for SAP that meet Patterson standards and go forward operating plans.
* Support SAP Landscape strategy thru client copies and system refreshes.
* Collaborate with enterprise monitoring team to establish and maintain appropriate monitoring and alerting of issues across the SAP infrastructure and application.
* Collaborate with SAP development team to support integration between the SAP products and interfaces between SAP, legacy applications and third party software.
* Create, review, and maintain daily operational procedures, task schedules, and documentation.
* Monitor, analyze, and identify trends for system performance and resource utilization.
* Work with infrastructure team to identify hardware, database and application failure scenarios and perform disaster recovery testing to validate SAP recovery.
* Respond to system problems on a 24x7 basis and take part in On-Call rotation.
* Assist with change control, incident response, and testing processes for infrastructure changes or problems across the SAP landscape.
* Participate in system and process audit activities for audit compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
* Minimum of 6 years of experience in SAP Basis for applications based on ABAP (ECC,EWM, CRM, SCM,BW), PI/PO, Enterprise Portal, Fiori and Solution Manager
* 2 years of implementation and operational experience of HANA Platform (Database, XSA)
* 2 or more years of Solution Manager experience in Technical Operations and Upgrade Management (BPCA, SEA etc)
* Experience in global SAP implementation / language installations
* Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and SQL Server databases
* Experience in SAP and Database performance tuning
* Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver results.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of SAP Cloud and BTP Platform
* Experience in migrations of SAP workloads to Azure cloud
* Experience of Powershell Scripting, ABAP Coding is a plus
