Intern as a Sargent: Gain hands-on experience and learn from industry professionals ranging from 20-50 years of experience. CET, CMT, CE & ME program students receive practical field skills and knowledge to reinforce classroom studies It is our goal to teach the basics from the ground up and give the intern more responsibility and increase their work load as they gain confidence. Interns have control over their experience and their level of responsibility by their motivation, effort and attitude.
Our ultimate goal is to have a 3 year intern hire on as a 1st year Foreman running items from day one.
1ST YEAR INTERN
A 1st year intern will start learning the trade in the field alongside other experienced field personnel reporting to a single foreman while performing various manual labor tasks gaining more knowledge, experience and confidence.
* General craft person (learning how to work safely, efficiently and productively)
* Proper use of hand tools (shovels, rakes, brooms, hammers, tapes, rules)
* Proper use of power equipment/tools
* Proper use of layout equipment
* Actively participate in daily Safety Task Assessment meetings
* Support utility crews (installing water, sewer and storm drain)
* Support building excavation and backfill
* Support erosion control and maintenance crew
* Support survey/layout crews
An intern's motivation, effort and attitude will enhance the experience - get out of it what you put into it.
2ND YEAR INTERN
A 2nd year intern will continue working in the field with experienced field personnel while being given more LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES and access to more technical work.
* Craft person (expected to assume more of a leadership role)
* Continue working as a general craft person with added duties
* Mentor, train 1st year interns and labor force
* Work closer with foreman to understand their role and help with items
* Participate in planning and production analysis
* Learn proper field book set up and use
* Help more with Quality Control efforts
* Utility work
* Instrument set up and use
* Work as a pipe layer
* Understand testing procedures
* Building excavation and backfill
* Help manage layout, material quantification and placement
* Understand and help with material testing
* Erosion Control and Maintenance
* Responsible for proper installation and maintenance
* Survey/layout (certain applications)
* Training on GPS
* CAD training/application
Again, responsibility is earned through hard work, desire and attention to detail - get out what you put in.
3RD YEAR INTERN
A 3rd year intern will continue to work with and lead other field personnel and begin to assume more responsibilities of a FOREMAN TRAINEE. They will be working more closely with a Foreman to begin to learn their responsibilities and expectations.
* Foreman Trainee (expected to be a leader, manage small crews)
* Continue mentoring and training 1st and 2nd

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The BIM Layout Technology Specialist is responsible for establishing procedures and checks in line with the industry standards for the technologies being used (land surveying instruments and MEP software) as well as use and care of all related equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Establish and maintain program to instruct field crews on the established procedures.
Update changes in software, equipment and changing standards.
Work with CAD Detailers to produce standardized information for field crews for use in MEP software.
Provide technical support to field crews and report problems to software and instrument companies.
Disseminate information on problems, troubleshooting and work arounds.
Provide hands on training for field crews.
Assist Rosendin team on new projects to ensure layout crews have proper layout control on site.
Assist with planned workflow of layout.
Provide layout on more complicated tasks such as trenches, wall penetrations, site lighting or other unforeseen issues as they arise. Provide hands on training for onsite personnel when needed.
Research and investigate new technology and software related to MEP layout. Test new instruments and software on a demonstration basis to evaluate if implementation will improve production, efficiency, reduce errors or simplify layout operations. Create reports on such tests and provide recommendations
Work with CAD Detailers and BIM to work with field to get up and running, step by step procedure manuals, evaluate new equipment, write up manuals, short videos on tablet

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Knowledge and experience in the use of robotic total stations and related software
Auto CAD experience
Knowledge of basic land surveying procedures for total stations and GPS

MEP layout experience
Training experience preferred
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

The Superintendent is responsible for a specific area of directing, training, and administrating the efforts for all Subcontractors. The Superintendent communicates on a regular basis with the Project Manager and Subcontractor Divisions regarding projects, project timelines, and project startups and staffing required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Meets on a regular basis with the Project Manager and subcontractors to co-ordinate the standardization of processes and resolution of mutual concerns.
Works with the Project Manager in the establishment of new hiring processes and procedures for field personnel.
Scheduling and coordination of material to ship to job site.
Oversee and ensure that all projects in specific area are completed to forecast.
Oversees the Safety Program and assures that all Safety Standards are being met and maintained.
Ensure that the Field Staff follow pertinent government regulations and contract documents.
Assign field staffing that will meet or exceed the project timelines and budgets in conjunction with the Director of Production.
Coordinate with the Tools/Equipment Manager regarding tools and inventory as required for projects.
Manages the Production and Field Staffing Team for a specific area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the field staff.
Assists in the interviewing, hiring, and training of the Field Staff and the support staff.
Assists in the development of training programs for Field Staffing that ensures our Company excellence.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Safety Manager administers the project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. They may be responsible for one project, multiple small projects, or an area within the division(s). The role would report to a Regional Safety Director and potentially manage Safety Managers, Safety Coordinators, and Field Safety Specialists. This recognized subject matter expert will have complete autonomy in providing technical safety support for safety-related decisions to the project management team(s) and field leadership. Leads the development needs and contributes to the overall company safety strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Direct daily audits of work areas. Provide safety expertise in response to identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance. Communication with project team(s) and field leadership is essential.
Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, act as company spokesperson for site safety issues, research, and answer site safety questions and concerns.
Resolve site safety issues and provide emergency response as needed that arises from sub-contractors, customers, employees, and company managers.
Anticipate & direct safety program elements, as needed, to comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Direct comprehensive, in-depth investigations of all injury and loss incidents, identify all causal factors, develop and implement measures to prevent recurrences, and follow up to ensure long-term resolution.
Lead safety training, testing, and record-keeping for all employees on assigned projects (New Hire Orientation, Equipment Training, Haz Com, Fall Protection, Excavation, Confined Space, Lockout/Tag out, Crane and Rigging, etc.).
Act as an advisor to the company management team and customer agencies to ensure safety requirements are identified, communicated to employees, and fulfilled.
Manage the assigned project's safety program budget, planning, acquiring, controlling, and distributing all safety equipment, supplies, and training aids.
Develop and review site safety plans for the project(s).
Act as a lead in project start-up meetings.
Assess three-week look ahead for the project(s).

The VDC Field Supervisor oversees survey projects from start to finish, leading teams to ensure quality and timely completion within budget. Key responsibilities include technical oversight, client communication, project scheduling, staff management and training, and quality control.

What You'll Do
Ensure all staff follow safety protocols and training, including Job Hazard Analysis, Daily Pre-task Plans, and any project specific safety requirements that are deemed necessary.
Build collaborative and relationships with project stakeholders and partners

Represent team in division or leadership forums

Strong understanding of federal contracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and industry standards related to quality assurance.

The Integration Field Engineer is an engineering management position responsible for providing technical engineering oversight and design team management for engineering projects for which they are assigned. Strong understanding on power system and provide power system failure analysis, event analysis or SOE analysis and or develop a metering / triggering system to conduct such analysis.

The Director of Procurement, Materials (East & Central) of major projects is responsible for overall management of the execution of material contracts over multiple projects within the East and Central regions reporting to the Vice President of Procurement. Identify and manage the internal/external metrics for our suppliers, procurement, and operations to establish a culture of continuous improvement on behalf of REI. Ensure proposed and implemented mitigation actions are appropriately addressing identified deficiency gaps.
Accountable for all material sourcing events, in collaboration with the Center of Excellence, to minimize operational disruption, mitigate supplier risks, and drive value to the REI bottom line
Oversee bid proposals, the creation of negotiation plans, and terms and conditions/commercial negotiations.
Ensure Operations receives the appropriate support required for the development of their project estimates based on material pricing and statement of work expertise
Manage and oversee the Enterprise database that is utilized by the Estimating department to quote material prices for future projects
Responsible for ensuring all recommend awards are in accordance with the approved decision model and Delegation of Authority and that adherence to procurement policies and procedures is strictly enforced.

The Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the design as it relates to electrical substation civil/structural engineering, specifically for HV/MV substation projects. He or She will interface with the preconstruction/estimating and project execution teams to ensure that the civil/structural designs meet all applicable codes and standards and are satisfactory to Rosendin expectations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Electrical substation civil/structural design including permitting support, site layout, grading design, main equipment foundations for main circuit breakers, main transformers and switches etc., cable trenches, manholes, cable trays, retaining wall design, stormwater analysis, containment structure design, survey coordination, and civil construction support.
Review civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
Provide support for transmission line right-of-way access improvement design including culvert sizing, stormwater drainage analysis, stabilization specification, construction support, and inspection.
Assist with analyzing the design for various civil elements related to high-voltage power transmission and substation design.
Partner with clients, vendors, permitting agencies, and various other team members and stakeholders to see projects through to completion.
Assist with estimating to help approximate civil quantities for pricing exercises
Develop civil engineering scope of work for pursuits.
Interface with appropriate project management and field supervision team to provide civil engineering input and knowledge for possible projects Rosendin is pursuing.
Review (QA/QC) civil engineering drawing packages from contracted firms for solar PV projects.
Interface with project management team, field/operations team and other engineering disciplines to ensure all civil aspects of the design are met to Rosendin standards and consider constructability
Attend project meetings (on-site as necessary or remotely).
Provide alternative engineering methods related to civil engineering that may offer cost savings to the project.
Interface directly with civil engineering subcontractors to ensure the most cost effective and code compliant design is being considered and implemented.
Provide civil engineering construction support as the project progresses.

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Electrical Substation Designer III is responsible for the creation of marked drawings and other documents to show equipment and device layouts and branch circuiting for power, lighting, and auxiliary drawings. Work closely with project manager and take design lead on projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide calculations and documentation for design of lighting and power systems.
Provide details as required to define and clarify the intent of the design on drawings.
Coordinates with clients, architects, and other discipline engineers to complete drawings.
Mark-up branch circuit lighting and power plans and fill in panel board schedules with moderate supervision.
Perform Title 24 lighting rules and requirements, or any local jurisdiction's energy requirements with no supervision.
Apply Rosendin standards for wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection for published schedules. Has a working knowledge of feeder sizing but may not be able to complete engineering calculations without assistance from the Engineer.
Calculate lighting levels and layout fixtures for all traditional spaces. Would require assistance of an Engineer for spaces of high finish, specific application or aesthetic sensitivity.
Select appropriate lighting fixtures and controls from either the Rosendin standards or product lines as appropriate for the project.
Calculate power loads, size feeders, and determine estimated demand load summary for a distribution system.
Perform coordination with all other trades, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, vertical transportation, kitchen equipment and OPCI systems.
Create details as required to define installation for construction.
Run short circuit studies.
Have familiarity with the National Electrical Code and know how to use it as a reference.
Attend project design team meetings. Interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer.
Work closely with the Rosendin Operations Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues.
Direct and coordinate signal and low voltage sub-contractors and designs with supervision and assistance.
Back-check of own work as well as the work of other designers under their supervision for accuracy and completeness before passing on to others.
Comprehensive field work and surveying skills.
Limited coordination with other trades and disciplines on the project.
