The industry was just emerging when engineers Frederick Sargent and Ayres Lundy formed an independent engineering and consulting company in 1891, dedicated to working with clients in the electric power business.
World-class Fossil Fuel and Power Transmission Beginnings The firm’s first project was the Harrison Street Station in 1892, which received worldwide attention for its power generation and transmission innovations.
Behringer joined the firm in 1981 as a structural engineer involved in engineering, design, and construction support for nuclear, coal, and gas-fired power plants.
Helminski joined Sargent & Lundy in 1982.
Meehan joined Sargent & Lundy as a structural engineer in 1983.
He joined Sargent & Lundy in 1985 after several years as a field engineer and rose rapidly in the company through the project management ranks.
