This is a senior design engineering position that offers a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities in nuclear Instrument and Controls Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity to advance your career. # Project Overview:
Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.
The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.
The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and Amentum. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm (day shift) or 5:30 pm to 4:00 am (night shift). Extended work weeks and/or extended hours may be required or authorized to support the construction schedule.

Major Responsibilities:
Infrastructure/Automation
* Develop and edit eForms.

Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a safety-focused leader with construction field experience to oversee field engineering and construction quality control on a mine remediation project near Spokane, Washington. This person will work onsite daily, directing a team that works with the client and various contractors to plan construction activities and verifies that construction meets design specifications. This is a full-time onsite role with a minimum 2-year commitment, with potential to extend beyond. Qualified candidates will have relevant field experience and a degree in engineering or geology; or comparable, relevant work experience meeting job requirements. These roles include leadership, daily interaction with the client, and seeing years of geotechnical engineering and mine reclamation design implemented. Work shift is 4 days per week working 10-hour shifts plus a one-hour drive each way for a total of 48 hours per week.
The Construction Engineer will be expected to support construction planning, communicate construction plans to contractors, identify problems, deficiencies, and design deviations, and develop potential courses of action to address these issues, while communicating and articulating them to the client, construction contractor, and Stantec leadership. The Senior Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer operates as part of the OT Cybersecurity group reporting to the Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS). Project Overview:
Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.
The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.
The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and Amentum. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

Major Responsibilities:
* Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)
* Plans civil/structural layout, prepares detailed civil/structural design and layout drawings for small structures, portions of major buildings, roadways, railroads, etc. Ensures designs are compliant with local and national regulations before and during construction
* Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
* Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
* Originates structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
* Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel
* Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements
* Prepares civil/structural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and civil models and codes
* Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
* Provides technical assistance to other Civil/Structural personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future.
* Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
* Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)

We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal.
