This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home.
This position will offer you the opportunity to manage and/or lead engineering teams through the execution of EHV transmission line projects. This role will actively lead and manage engineering teams in the execution of EHV transmission line engineering designs for electric utilities, COOPs, and developers. As a subject matter specialist in the area of EHV transmission lines this position will be expected to provide expert level support the organization on 500kV and 765kV transmission line designs. The position will involve coordinating with multiple internal and external departments to manage the life cycle of EHV transmission line projects.
Function as a subject matter specialist and technical resource for EHV transmission line designs, specifically for 500kv and above.
Responsible for execution of engineeringprojects including the technical development of design deliverables.
Supervise and direct the engineeringproject team in the execution of EHV transmission line designs. Mentor and coach team members.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client functional leads and stakeholders.
Lead efforts to ensure engineeringprojects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Communicate and consult with appropriate stakeholders and supervisors.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure designs comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
Perform independent reviews of engineering designs prepared by others including calculations and drawing preparation.
Prepare reports that project information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements.
Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results.

Essential skills and experience:
BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or a management/business degree.
10+ years of specific experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission projects.
5+ years of experience in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design
Expertise within the electrical considerations for 765kV transmission lines
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
Experience with serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities is critical to success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.
Willing to travel to project sites and/or attend client meetings
Valued but not required skills and experience:
MS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
PE license
PLS-CADD and PLS-TOWER software experience

Mesa seeks a senior level substation design engineer with at least 15 years of recent and progressively responsible experience performing substation design and/or QA/QC including but not limited to:
Development of single lines, elementaries, panel elevations, and wiring diagrams, creation of bills of materials, and cable schedules utilizing Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software.
Perform electrical P&C design for substations ranging from 4kV to 500kV.
Work in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high and extra-high voltage substations.
Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
Properly apply client's substation design standards to the work.
High level understanding of SCE and Industry Standards.
Work on multiple projects concurrently.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Work with the QA/QC team to perform independent quality checks primarily on P&C drawings, however physical design drawing reviews may also be required.
Capable of coaching and mentoring Design Engineers while providing constructive feedback on design errors.
Capable of preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required.
Manages personal task assignments, and for designated team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Performs technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project or study documents.
Use strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients
Use good interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients
Accept responsibility for technical adequacy of deliverables designed or checked
Work under the direction of others to complete the assignment on schedule and under budget.
Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an on-going substantial component at this level.

The Senior Plumbing Engineer will lead plumbing design project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Senior Plumbing Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting plumbing plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs
What you will do
+ Lead plumbing engineering of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion providing a turnkey efficient process.
+ Ability to meet project needs and requirements set forth by our client and the project management team
+ Prepare plumbing equipment: packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
+ Review plumbing equipment vendor drawings; data interface with suppliers, clients other engineering disciplines, detailers, designers.
+ Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders.
+ Apply expert knowledge of industry standard plumbing practices, principle, codes and procedures within the MEP AE services industry.
+ Apply knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
+ Quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software. These tasks include but are not limited to performing a QA/QC on all plumbing system production drawings, scheduled equipment and specifications.
+ Quality review the construction administration including coordination with field personnel to resolve design related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of plumbing systems.
+ Leads field inspections, installation, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
+ Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
+ Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
+ Participate in sales and marketing efforts to identify key pursuits.
