This position is expected to be a field assignment, meaning travel is required. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for those that qualify.
The Construction Management Specialist will work closely with all project team members and closely supervise all contractor and sub-contractor trade employees. Our Construction Managers must be highly organized, communicate effectively, work well with a team, and help ensure timely completion of projects in fast-paced environments. This is a traveling Construction Management position supporting project work across multiple sites. The successful candidate will move from site to site, with typical project assignments lasting about 3-9 months, and may occasionally travel to other locations for a few days to support additional projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop project-specific construction management and/or commissioning management work plans;
Perform Home office or remote pre-construction planning work before field mobilization;
Lead and manage the site construction management and commissioning staff;
Monitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety;
Manage and mitigate construction and commissioning work risk;
Report construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or Owner;
Lead and attend construction project performance review meetings;
Plan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheads;
Keep track of project progress and maintain schedules;
Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly;
Communicate any field conflicts and notify the internal project team;
Keep all documentation up to date for internal and external project members;
Collaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs;
Monitor and report on project progress;
Adhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget (and is profitable)
Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback;
Coordinate requests for appropriate staffing;
Resolve on-site issues and emergencies;
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.

7-12 years of relevant construction management experience, directly related to T&D transmission, substation construction, or industrial construction management
Determination of staff positions and size; interviewing and selection of personnel experience
Construction labor knowledge and labor planning experience
Experience in establishing and effectively using project controls tools to manage a large construction project
Understanding of a process approach to accomplishing construction management and start-up testing work
Demonstrated client relationship-building experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situations
Successful and proven experience as an Industrial Construction Site Manager
Industrial Field Experience, Trade School Graduate, or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred

We are seeking a Project Manager for our Energy & Resources business line to lead multi-discipline project teams in the execution of THERMAL GENERATION PROJECTS. The project scope will be for either Owner's Engineer or Detailed Engineering/Design services for simple cycle, combined cycle, and/or repowering projects. The Project Manager will provide leadership to these state-of -the-art projects to support business line growth and consistently deliver projects successfully.

The selected Project Manager will serve as a "seller-doer" in assisting in business development, and then leading projects to successful completion. Projects are in North America. This role is instrumental in our business line helping to lead the energy transition projects across North America.

Qualifications

* Engineering design and construction experience with power plant projects.
* Expertise in Project management including, team leadership, resource management, scheduling, project controls, reporting and document controls.
* Strong leader and team player, collaborator, and communicator with strong interpersonal skills and experience in managing a team.
* Project management experience in leading projects utilizing various delivery models such as EPC (Engineer Procure Construct), DBB (Design Bid Build), ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) etc.
* Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering services related to energy projects.
* Experience in business development, proposal, and budget development.
* Demonstrated leadership competencies.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to work across multiple offices and geographies.
* Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify when a project is in trouble (e.g., deviations from baseline scope, schedule, or budget) and ability to take corrective action to address the problem.
* Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites, as required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizations skills and aptitude for problem solving.
* Proficient in the Microsoft 365 platform including Teams and SharePoint with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel would being beneficial.

Education and Experience
* B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering disciplines, or related fields.

Mesa seeks a Substation Physical Design Engineer to assist our team with the development of design packages for 12kV-500kV Substations/Switchyards, including General Arrangements, Equipment Plans, Elevations and Sections, Control House Layouts, Grounding design, Conduit and Cable design, utilizing AutoCAD/Microstation drafting software. Additionally, Scope of Work Write-up and Bill of Materials will be created to support the design. May also complete Lightning Studies, Illumination Studies, Rigid Bus Evaluations, and Conduit Fill Calculations. May also participate in site visits.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a Quality champion for Mesa and the design team and be part of Mesa's Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
Foster strong customer relationships through communications and support.
Desire/interest to cross-train in additional disciplines for professional growth
Estimating and assisting in the preparation of bid packages.
Attending scoping meetings as requested for projects.
Able to obtain PE license.
Must be able to complete assignments within budget and schedule with a high degree of accuracy to provide quality deliverables.
Must have willingness to work overtime as required for customers' needs.
Mentor other designers/engineers in group to increase knowledge of physical substation design.
May be designated to check/review other personnel work for accuracy/adherence to client/national standards.
Independently evaluate, select and apply engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements. Share updates with team and leads to continually improve communications and quality.

The ideal candidate should be a Junior or Senior Level Student at an Accredited University and working towards a BS in Engineering. Prior experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software is a plus. The individual would be working with other experienced engineers, drafters, and/or designers in creating electrical drawing deliverables for substation design projects.
Education/Experience:
• Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an ABET accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering.

The Assistant Construction Manager will assist the Construction Project Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, and/or the Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) Project Manager or Program Manager with day to day management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, proposals, estimates, documentation, turnover, client interface, field-based activities, and other duties required to execute Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) projects, construction management, and program management ventures. This position will work on a diverse array of projects across multiple industries including aviation, commercial building, electrical transmission & distribution, facility, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water.
+ Adhere to company's safety programs, training, and policies as well as collaborate with the project team to manage the Safety & Health performance of project team members, contractors, and others as required.
+ Collaborate with the Project Management team to build client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and project related items.
+ Assist in the development of internal and external project risk reviews with the Project Management team and consult with the Legal Department as required.
+ Coordinate and assist in the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Project Staffing Plan, Organization Chart, and Procurement Plan.
+ Contribute to the negotiation, approval and execution of multiple types of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
+ Develop the project plan for site mobilization and demobilization and support the Construction Manager or Site Manager with implementation.
+ Secure applicable project permits required for the project.
+ Support development of and coordinate the potential bidders' registration and pre-qualification efforts on behalf of the Project team.
+ Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP), support detailed scope of work development, bid and selection process, creation of contract documents for the purpose of subcontractor and client contractor selection and award.
+ Support the implementation of multiple project specifications, drawing releases, and design changes.
+ Execute downstream contract administration, including Request for Information (RFI's), submittals, meeting minutes, change management, and claims mitigation.
+ Support project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project set-up and closeout, and field progress tracking processes.
+ Prepare information for and report project status, risks, schedule, costs, and cash flows at project and corporate level meetings to internal and external stakeholders. Develop and distribute meeting minutes as needed.
+ Support the Prime Contract, subcontract, client contractor, and supplier invoicing process.
+ Establish, review and implement the project documentation and filing systems and processes.
+ Verify the project, client contractor, and/or subcontractor's insurance, licensures, taxes/duties, and securities are in effect according to the project requirements.
+ Support and conduct project safety, quality, progress and financial audits and assessments as required.
+ Facilitate the materials receiving and management process including inventory control, receiving of goods, storage, and transportation.
+ Collaborate with Superintendents and Site Managers to verify compliance of subcontractor's client contractors contract documents, safety & health requirements, quality, and schedule.
+ Facilitate the project turnover documentation, recordkeeping/retention, warranty and project close out processes.
+ Assist with maintaining compliance on all project related activities by consistently applying company policies and procedures.
+ Assist with the development of project labor agreements with building trades as required.
+ Assist with onboarding of craft/field supervision as required.
+ Analyze composite crew rates to determine labor and equipment costs.

+ Analyze and monitor labor burdens including craft classifications, benefits and labor laws.
+ Maintain accurate craft classifications and craft progression records.
+ Assist with upholding standards of craft competency and training.
+ Estimate, forecast and manage craft install unit rates, production rates to ensure earned value, schedule, change management and ensure cost metrics are met.
+ Assist with applicable craft training.
+ Manage construction equipment to ensure adequate inventory to complete projects.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years relevant construction experience required or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
+ Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
+ Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
+ Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
+ Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.
+ A basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
+ Must be able to meet the company's driving requirements.
Compensation
$110,000.00-170,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
